@wearedrumandbabes x @riffraffscroydon x @cr0nxlive SO much gratitude to every single soul that made this day, it was an incredibly beautiful, soul fuelling way to kick Drum & Babes off for 2025. The energy, love, kindness, vibes, openness, laughter, honesty and support that came from every single person who was a part of this sunny march day truly made it what it was. Claire, Lucifer & @riffraffscroydon @cr0nxlive massives this was all possible because of you!! I brought you a wild collaborative idea and you both gave us the trust and freedom to do what we wanted to do 💕 ✨ We kicked off with some digital and vinyl DJ workshops, folks who had never seen a set of decks, to those learning new skills, we shared, we learned, we laughed, made friends and had FUN!! ✨ The incredible beings @maya_embrace @skidney.xs @tashaahahaa absolutely SLAYYED on the open decks ❤️ ✨ We had some genuine scene ICONS in the building sharing their thoughts, feels and experiences during our panel discussion @djflight @mcchickaboo @_chinese_daughter hosted by our very own dreamgal @whoisjolie who asked the most open and deeply moving questions ❤️ ✨ Then came the babes, @claude_knight @surespirit Honestly this day could never have been possible without the support of you both, you are truly the best babes a fellow babe could ever want, the support, love and immaculate vibes resonates so incredibly strongly. ✨ @claude_knight @surespirit @djqueenkong B3B & @mcchickaboo on mic duties was the best thing that has happened in my DJing life so far. That is what loving, supportive, deep feeling, honest, pure fiyaaa ENERGY feels like!! Absolutely no joke, if you're aligned with our collective values, book us immediately. ✨ Croydon Massive took it home!! 💕 happy 2nd birthday to @wearedrumandbabes 💕 today marks 2 beautiful years since our collective was born!! birthed in the energy of an incredible squat event saying f*ck feminism (to all those fake feminists that don't believe in liberation for ALL women & gender non conforming people) where we took over the old vagina museum alongside some of our most amazing and dedicated comrades ✨ Drum&Babes was birthed into this universe, we came together to stand side by side, to put on events for our community, to lift each other up, to shout loudly and proudly about what we believe in, collective care for collective liberation. In a world dominated and built by white men, that serves the ruling classes and those whose lives only exist to exploit at their own gain, we say FUCK YOU and come together, co-create and resist loudly! It's such a joy to be able to stand, spin, make and love alongside these amazing human beings. It's a hella lot more real, joyful and fulfilling to pour our collective energies into each other and our communities than trying to "make it" in the sickeningly gross music industry. Many of us are community workers, frontline workers, teachers, care workers, support staff and activists, we care about each other and we know how important it is to pour ourselves into each other, cos the state and the ruling classes sure as hell ain't gonna do that!! We're not without our problems, we fuck up and make mistakes all the time, nothing and nobody in this world is perfect, but we're committed to our collective values, to communicating, to being open, to listening to each other, to working through things, to holding each other accountable for our actions and to try and make this world that we collectively live on a little bit brighter for each other and everyone else.
