In association with Hencilla Canworth. Sun Kim is a Korean ceramicist raised in Brazil and now based in South London. After studying Fine Art and ceramics in the United States (including at Alfred University), she moved to the UK in 2004 to work with Edmund de Waal. Her work explores both traditional and contemporary aesthetics through functional ware, with an ongoing investigation into form, shape and volume. Doors are now open. MEET THE MAKER | SUN KIM @sunkim55 is a Selected Member of the @craftpotters , a Korean ceramicist raised in Brazil who trained at Alfred University before moving to the UK in 2004 to work as a studio assistant to Edmund de Waal. Based in South London since 2007, her practice spans traditional and contemporary aesthetics, producing functional ware through a continual investigation into form, shape and volume. You may remember our studio visit with Sun Kim earlier this year when she showed us some of her work in progress but we couldn’t have anticipated just how beautiful the results would be.
