| The Goddess | (2026)
Aluminum mesh, plywood, aluminum wire, polyester fabric
Okay first of all - the green tape was my “innovative” idea to aid people in respecting the work’s personal space (we love it when people are touching and/or brushing up against the art as they walk by - but also I guess that’s just having art in the public!) and in typical Sparrow fashion, the only photos I got are with the green tape, which was removed, creating a much more seamless connection with the space. So if you may, please picture this gal without the green tape!!
The Goddess of the In-Between: she is the essence of the universe’s construction. She is the space between our words in the building of sentences, she is the hues that human eyes haven’t evolved to see. She is like the Holy Trinity; a physical, spiritual, and all encompassing entity that is within each fibre of creation. She is the governess of time passing and tears shedding and vegetables sizzling in hot oil. Solid, liquid, and gas, she is everything.

I’m kinda into this live making thang right now 💅🏻
@psychedelifax was suuuuch a vibe! I painted @owow.band , @riotdogs902 , and @rhodesy_mike ‘s music, and the way my brain processed the sounds. As an extroverted introvert, this was the most perfect way to listen to live music!!! Set up in the corner, locked in, by myself, and listening to some incredible local talent, it was so fun. Would do it again in a heartbeat 🫶

🔮SPECIAL GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT!🔮
We are thrilled to share that for our upcoming Creative Night, we will have a live artist there to showcase their talents and to inspire our attendees while making their own creations!
Max Taylor is a Kjipuktuk-based interdisciplinary artist, currently in his third year at NSCAD University. Taylor crosses the boundaries of material expression to share deep, personal narratives, often discussing powerful memories of his past through cathartic making. He mainly works in sculpture, photography, and painting, often combining all of the above to create his story. Taylor’s work has been exhibited at the Viewpoint Gallery (2024, 2025, 2026), as well as the Anna Leownowens Gallery (2024). Most recently, he participated in the Downtown Dartmouth Ice Festival (2026) as a live ice carver. He is inspired by the ocean, the sunrise, a hot cup of coffee, and the changing of the seasons.
See you at Creative Night!

One of my most favourite moments from my 2025 performances. Is this heckling? Out of love, right??
Thanks @abolish_this for setting up a tripod and getting the whole show!!!! 🥺🥺💕💕

My Ace of Cups inspired ice sculpture 🥰🥰
My heart is so full of love and compassion for my little world I’ve built since arriving to Halifax. This was my first time carving ice! Beautiful, strong, dazzling - chiseling away at the surface of the block was exhilarating in every way. The sun shone through the form and it glistened like crystal! I have never in my life had so many people watching me work, but it felt like the entire HRM was there for the festival. So many people perceiving me and my decisions!! I was also on the news, which was crazy.
Overall, it was an incredible experience, and I am exhausted.
All in a days work!

Oh what a night indeed!
Super jazzed to have been included in such a sweet exhibition with the @nscadphotocollective members. Thanks so much to @viewpointgalleryhfx for hosting us once more! And for the second year in a row, I forgot to photograph my work in the space. Oh well, next time!
This is a night I’ll remember for a while. It’s a crazy thing being an artist sometimes 😮💨

I couldn’t be more happy with how our show went on the 21st. Big thank you to @bluettesings and @ashlabrys for putting on two incredible sets, and especially huge shout out to @seamusjohnsonmusic for helping with sound. Truly, we wouldn’t have had a show without you!
Six months ago I went to my first open mic, and it is my proudest accomplishment of 2025 to have the chance to play my music for others. It has been my dream to perform my songs on a stage to an audience my entire life - how beautiful it is to see your dreams come true in real time! I am honoured, grateful, and proud.
Thank you @guspubandgrill for having us play on the longest night of the year!
See y’all at the next one :)
Much love,
Sparrow
