Tom works in our Cancer Stories team, helping people share their experience of cancer to raise awareness of the disease.
This year, Tom is going the extra mile (or 26.2 miles, to be precise) and running the @londonmarathon to raise money for our research.
Tom says: āRunning the London Marathon for Stand Up To Cancer is an honour, and I will be thinking of all the people who share their stories to support the campaign every step of the way ā it's such a powerful motivation."
āI wonāt be breaking any land speed records but I'm proud to be doing my bit to Stand Up To Cancer.ā

Diagnosed with kidney cancer last year, Umesh shared his story to support Stand Up To Cancer and to encourage others to go to their doctor if they experience unusual symptoms.
Umesh says, āThe key thing Iāve wanted is to inspire people to recognise symptoms of cancer and advocate for themselves. I really hope sharing my story has done that. My message to everyone is never to ignore symptoms, and get them checked out immediately.ā
Umesh is pictured here during an episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer which included Umeshās story. Heās kitted out in our Star Baker apron and oven mitts.
Umesh continued, āSince filming, Iāve had my first maintenance scan to monitor for any recurrence of cancer. Thankfully, this came back clear.ā
Thank you, Umesh, for sharing your experience to help others, and for modelling our merch so beautifully. We Stand Up To Cancer with you š§”
