Dangerous Lover by Sekou (Horn arrangement) Been a while since I’ve posted some horn arrangements as I haven’t managed to get @holdtighthorns together in some time. But as soon as I heard this track by @sekou I just needed to put something on top!

I had the pleasure of playing with @cjpandit and co at the stunning new @ourhouse.studios in Leeds to record a live version of ‘Wouldn’t it be cool’. Check out the full live version on YouTube and listen to the original to hear the master @tomkettleton solo.

It’s Sunday so we’ve got the gospel on. I often find myself turning to gospel for all sorts of inspiration and with music from the likes of Kirk Franklin can you blame me? Here’s some added Bari sax over this wicked horn break in his tune ‘Brighter day’.

Back from a wee break to bring you some sax/flute vibes over this luscious track by @allysha_joy . I only got put on to Allysha last year somehow but her discography has been in constant rotation since then!

Stu here! It’s been nearly a year since we lost the great David Sanborn. With such an iconic sound he was instantly recognisable after just a few notes. His albums were such a huge influence on me and even more so his work as a session player with iconic solos for acts like Kenny Loggins, Chaka Kahn, David Bowie and James Taylor to name a few! A couple of years back I discovered he had late night talk show back in the 80s called ‘Night Music’ in which he had some really amazing musical guests. This transcription was from his solo on ‘Walkin’ the dog’ by Rufus Thomas performed on said show. R&B, funk, pop and jazz. The man could do it all and he will always be remembered for being an all time great.

Another solo video today and this time it’s @stuwhyte98 adding Bari sax to possibly one of the most influential jazz fusion records of modern times. Snarky Puppy - What About Me? This whole EP will always be historic for so many reasons but in this track we especially love the complex feel the rhythm sections brings and how tight and punchy the horns are!

I’ve had such blast working on @holdtighthorns over the past few weeks, I thought it would be good to share my work so far on this page. Just wanted to say a huge thanks to @_mattrobinsontpt and @guguinha_a for nailing anything I put down infront of them. A big shout out to @benclarkmusic for help with the mixing of these tracks and another massive thanks to @t_ellavision for the logo designs and help with video editing! Series 2 will be releasing soon so if you like these little clips then please go and follow the page!
