Also, check out Lin’s Lucky Red Envelope🧧, a children’s book commissioned this year by @holtrenfrew written by Sennah Yee @sennahaha , and illustrated by Elaine Chen @tiny.clovers . It’s a story of a Chinese Canadian girl celebrating her first Lunar New Year in a new home through traditions and family. Proceeds from book sales will go to @proj1907 , a grassroots group of Asian women aiming to elevate asian voices that are underrepresented in political, social and cultural discourses. A beautiful book for a great cause, and you can also learn some Chinese phrases for the new year too! My neice and nephew loves it🐯✨

This year for our #BigSocial Fundraiser for @communityfoodcentresca we are making Chinese walnut cookies 合桃酥 Hup Toh Soh! Like with a lot of the food from our childhood, @rachelttong and I like to dive into a bit of the cultural history. Apparently these cookies were first made by porcelain makers in a village in China. How awesome is that, wanna know more? Check out our recipe card for what we learned, and for our adapted recipe so you can make it to enjoy. Food is our love language so we suggest you make them for your friends and family too :)
