This is the brick extension I designed at the back of a historic Broadway home in San Francisco. A light yellow-toned volume added to the original house 🌝
I wanted to open the house to more light, and to a stronger sense of the day and the sun moving through the spaces 🌞🌤️

For TimeSpirit, created in close collaboration with the passion-driven team at The Macallan Estate, the ambition was never to add something new but to reveal what already felt inherent to the architecture by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.
The dining experience should feel as though it had always existed within the building.
By carefully articulating the vast interior through framed views, material presence and a sense of protection at the table, the space establishes intimacy while remaining deeply connected to the surrounding landscape.

There is something special about working inside a building that has already lived a full life.
At Langelinieskuret the raw Öland-stone, the vaults and the ocean were already there and from the very beginning the approach was about listening.
Together with @karberghus and @officeclub.dk we are proud to have shaped a space of warmth, intimacy and rhythm inside this historic building by the Danish architect Wilhelm Dahlerup.
The warmth of the stone became our anchor and the building allowed a darker brown palette that softens the light in summer and brings warmth in winter.
