After a 35 year career painting pictures on walls, I retired 15 years ago from mural painting to concentrate on making smaller paintings relevant to what might be considered the more highly esteemed world of 'Fine Art'.
I've come out of my self imposed retirement to accept an irresistible commission to paint a mural for two exceptional people who live conveniently nearby.
I just walk across a field to get to work.
Early days, but these photos show the beginnings. It always starts with drawing for me. The mural will extend across all four walls of the room, but I'm starting with the smallest wall section to get my hand in and test out colours.
It's strange, and exciting, to be picking up my biggest brushes again.
