S • Process｜Before the Unbox: Perfecting the Warmth of Every Touch
Before a space truly brings people together, it is first built from countless details, materials, and raw textures. Following the launch of @ichigo_______ichie Coffee pop-up in Beijing, we wanted to share a few behind-the-scenes moments from its "unfinished" days.
From selecting wood grains and perfecting tactile edges, to the endless alignments before assembly—every color test and refinement in the factory is a deep dive into the design details.
It is these hidden processes that ultimately define the warmth of every touchpoint in the final space.

The most whimsical detail lies in our transformation of these IP installations into rotatable, interactive components. Powered by electric motors, these once-static props are imbued with a sense of vitality; as the figures rotate, customers weaving through the space engage in a series of silent ”visual dialogues,“ as if sharing fleeting glances with the Meerkats in motion.
This embodies our fundamental interpretation of ”communication“: design should transcend being a silent fixture within a space. Through these playful interventions, we weave the brand’s warmth and collective memories into the environment, transforming a commercial field into a social nexus brimming with surprise and emotional resonance.

S • Pick｜Conversational Islands: Sight & Logic
Every crate is designed for both storage and display. We placed different Meerkat IP figures on top of the drawers to show what is inside. This fun ”what you see is what you get“ style makes shopping feel like a natural and exciting ”unboxing“ experience.
The circular layout is different from traditional counters. It creates an open meeting point in the middle of the busy mall. No matter which direction customers come from, they can see and interact with the different Meerkat figures.

S • Project｜Unboxing: A Narrative of Connection
From the streets of Shanghai to the heart of Beijing, SPLASH presents a "Pack-Transport-Unbox" narrative for @ichigo_______ichie ’s latest landing.
Within the public realm of Hopson One, a monolithic wooden shipping crate serves as the central hub, its pristine white interior echoing the minimalist DNA of the brand.
The architecture comes alive through kinetic panels; a lowering front ramp invites entry, while folding rear covers transform into interactive window sills for dialogue. Surrounding this core, smaller modular crates are "unpacked" to create a flexible landscape of product displays and stackable social seating.
This temporary urban plug-in injects a unique narrative tension into the commercial space. While the wooden crates will eventually move on, the moments of pause and encounter they facilitate remain as a lasting part of the city's daily rhythm.

S • Pick｜HYPEBEAST 20 : When T‑Shirts Float！
T‑shirts are more than clothing—they’re walking canvases marking pop culture moments. To showcase 20 collaborative tees, we designed acrylic mounts that display each shirt flat with descriptive text, making them appear to float like paintings.
We built the space quickly by reusing existing steel pipes from the venue, reassembling them into a staggered scaffolding structure inspired by Hong Kong. The steel framework is not hidden but becomes part of the story, allowing visitors to walk through and view each piece from all angles.

Our collaboration with Hong Kong artist ORANGE TERRY is rooted in a profound resonance with his “post-industrial design” philosophy—where everyday objects, often overlooked but silently sustaining the city’s rhythm, are imbued with narratives waiting to be uncovered.
For the HYPEBEAST 20th Anniversary exhibition, we repurposed custom stainless steel pipes into organic, narrative-driven structures, transforming them from background elements into the space’s focal point.
Orange Terry reimagined street PlyPlastic Dolly in polished stainless steel, shifting them from tools of labor to cultural symbols, carrying Hypebeast Magazines. These installations blend utility with art, labor with culture.

S • Project｜A Spatial Exploration of Street Culture, Installations, and Timeless T-Shirts
In celebration of HYPEBEAST’s 20th anniversary, STUDIO SPLASH and Hong Kong artist ORANGE TERRY collaborate on a spatial experiment at BELOWGROUND. Twenty iconic T-shirts are suspended within a scaffold system, while stacked stainless steel wheelbarrows are placed throughout the space, fashion, labor, and street culture.
STUDIO SPLASH repurposed custom steel pipes from previous events to create an organic, scaffold-inspired display. Lightweight, protective displays were designed to showcase the exclusive T-shirts.
ORANGE TERRY, known for turning everyday objects into art, introduced stainless steel wheelbarrow sculptures. The contrast between the raw tools and the refined space speaks to the relationship between labor and fashion.
The exhibition fosters a dialogue between fashion, labor, and art, allowing the objects and memories to transcend the space and unfold beyond its walls.
