We’re excited to welcome Emma Hynes and Maddison Ellis to the Studio 103 Melbourne team.
Emma rejoins Studio 103 as an Associate, returning to a studio she helped shape from the beginning. As a key contributor to the early establishment of the business, Emma played an important role in defining the foundations, culture and direction that have supported the studio’s continued growth. Her return marks a full-circle moment, bringing back deep studio knowledge, strong conceptual leadership and a clear strategic design vision.
Maddison joins the team as a Graduate Interior Designer after completing her Bachelor of Interior Architecture in South Australia. Following an earlier work placement with the studio, Maddison has now relocated to Melbourne and is already making a strong contribution across projects.

Studio 103 has delivered four speculative suites across Levels 10 and 11 at Collins Place, 55 Collins Street. Each suite responds to the evolving expectations of modern tenants, balancing flexibility, functionality and design quality within a highly competitive commercial market.
Following the strong post-completion leasing performance of six previously delivered suites, this proven strategy was extended in collaboration with Mirvac across the current stage of works. The approach reinforces a clear alignment between considered design and commercial success.
Each suite is individually articulated while contributing to a cohesive overall vision. Select spaces draw on natural influences through organic forms and materiality, while others reflect the energy of the urban environment with refined detailing, layered textures and confident use of colour. This diversity ensures broad tenant appeal without compromising design integrity.
Working closely with Mirvac, Studio 103 has transformed comparable floor plates into distinct, ready-to-occupy workplaces. The result is a curated suite offering that demonstrates both design versatility and market relevance: validated through continued leasing performance and strong tenant engagement.

As part of the broader repositioning strategy at 50 Lonsdale, the stairs and amenities were reimagined to elevate the overall tenant experience and enhance the building's appeal.
The previously utilitarian stairwell was softened through the introduction of warm finishes, integrated lighting, and refined detailing, transforming it into a feature connection between floors rather than a purely functional element.
The amenities were redesigned with a focus on comfort, quality, and a pared-back yet refined aesthetic through a palette of simple, sophisticated materials, soft lighting, and thoughtful spatial planning that come together to create an inviting environment that promotes wellbeing and complements the standard of the surrounding tenancies.

At Studio 103 Headquarters, Woodcut London Grey from the Grande Ville Collection does something remarkable, it anchors one of the most dramatic interiors we‘ve seen. Against floor-to-ceiling black joinery, dark marble, and moody pendant lighting, these wide, masterful boards become the hero.

In redesigning our head office amenities, we challenged convention. Typically hidden or squeezed into leftover space, these areas were treated as integral to the workplace experience.
Faced with base building constraints, we reframed the spatial hierarchy, prioritising circulation, intuitive access, and efficient use of underutilised zones. DDA-compliant toilets were designed with the same material, lighting, and spatial generosity as the wider fit-out, achieving accessibility with cohesion and dignity.
Materials were selected for durability and timelessness, avoiding trends in favour of refined detailing and a restrained palette. The result is an amenity experience that is calm, contemporary, and considered: proof that even overlooked spaces can exemplify design excellence.
