The Wellmade Table is a tribute to what raised me and my siblings.
The folding tables that held Sunday dinners, homework, dreams, and plans.
But it’s also about what didn’t get handed to us.
My mom was a single mother for half my life.
I’ve been self-taught in almost everything I’m good at.

This table is proof of that.

History of Kantha Fabric
Kantha fabrics originated in the homes of everyday people of Bengal & is one of the simplest form of embroidery using a running stitch pattern.
For centuries Bengali women stitched together old cloth scraps to form blankets. “Kantha” is the Sanskrit word for rags, and old cloth was believed to provide protection from harm.
