Trans elder & activist Zhi Kai Vanderford is entering his 40th year of incarceration. On April 14th, his case will be heard by the parole board.
The week before Zhi Kai’s hearing, join us for a power hour of art and resistance. For years, Zhi Kai has made art to reflect on his life and to make political commentary. Together we’ll make a collective collage in solidarity with Zhi Kai. At 7:30 , we’ll share a brief reminder of Zhi Kai’s story and an update on his parole process.
And don’t forget to mark your calendar for April 14th at 1pm, when Zhi Kai will appear before the parole board. Help us pack the hearing room to show the parole board that he has immense community support for his release.

We had an amazing couple days live painting for the @raceforward Just Narratives for Multicultural Solidarity convening! Over two full days we listened to and absorbed so much brilliance, strategy, love, and power and channeled it into this work. Honored to have participated alongside, and connected with, such amazing folks.
We had a blast live painting this graphic recording for the @mcea1974 50th anniversary event last month! Inspired by their work defending the essential rights of the land, wildlife, and peoples of Minnesota for decades. They offer a critical role in the ecosystem of efforts to sustain and protect that which sustains our lives here. The spiral of time represents the impacts of the work over time. What we do matters.
