Meet Luke Abdallah: the Artist behind the Art you have been enjoying at WOTSO Pyrmont Gallery 2.
ABOUT LUKE:
Born totally blind and living with elective mutism, Abdallah incorporates multi-sensory inspiration into his works, often drawing expressiveness from a myriad of stimuli - sound, smell, texture, vibration, and taste.
Keenly aware of the importance of accessible practice, Abdallah invites his audience to enjoy his works both by sight and by touch.
Luke's art is truly inspiring and we love bringing it to you in conjunction with @nationwide_curating21
These photos were taken at the recent Meet the Artist Event.
ONE MONTH LEFT:
This exhibition is in Pyrmont Gallery 2 until 21 April 2023.
Be sure to see it before the next exhibition arrives.

What an remarkable week it was for @studio.abdallah & @elliottmatt84 down at Bundanon on the Shaolhaven River, they painted up a serious storm on their Accessible Arts residency!
Bundanon provided the perfect place for our two artists to unleash their artistic potential, inspired by the beautiful Australian landscape, there was no stopping their immense creativity!
Stay tuned over the coming months as Luke & Matt finish their paintings and build towards a collaborative exhibition.
We also had the opportunity to capture all these Kodak moments on film, thanks to Stephen from @disruptive_media_productions .
Itâs all happening !
A huge thanks to @zfenndelberg@sudjuice@ladanart.au@bundanontrust@aartsnsw for making it possible and of course, Arthur Boyd.

On Friday, we went to Echoes of the Firecracker, a group exhibition at Art Space Gallery, The Concourse. Luke and the exhibiting artists explored how sound can shape ritual, identity, and belonging across cultures.
The turnout was incredible, and it was so special to see Luke surrounded by family and friends. The support shown for all the artists throughout the night was really lovely.
We would like to extend our congratulations to all the artists involved, and to curators Monique Bedwell and Faye Chen for bringing together such a thoughtful and beautifully considered exhibition.
Echoes of the Firecracker is open at @willoughbyvisualarts until March 1st, Wednesday to Sunday.

Last Friday night we came together to celebrate @studio.abdallah & @mattelliott80 , who were finalists in the Northern Beaches Environmental Art & Design Prize.
It was a pleasure seeing their work recognised alongside so many brilliant artists, and even more special to witness them reconnect with old friends.
A huge congratulations to all the finalists and winners, and thank you to @magamnsw for spotlighting work that challenges and reimagines our relationship with the environment.

Little Umbrella Collective returns with an exhibition at Goodspace Gallery, sharing a selection of past works from across the collective. This show offers a glimpse into the practices and perspectives that shape our artists and our community.
We are a group of artists living with and without disabilities, working toward a new model of genuine inclusivity in Australiaâs art world. This is about equity, visibility, and reshaping the structures that have long defined who gets to be seen.
This exhibition is presented by @chippolord and @goodspacegallery , with generous support from our sponsors @younghenrys .
Come and witness a community redefining whatâs possible.

Luke recently travelled to Port Macquarie for ArtWalk 2025, where he was invited as a featured artist to showcase his work and perform a live cane painting for the local crowd.
There were a few early nerves as the atmosphere built, but once Riia threw on the tunes, everything fell into place. Luke found his rhythm and painted with momentum and fierce determination. Flashing that iconic smile, he drew the crowd in. They stayed, captivated by his energy and the bold, instinctive strokes of his white cane.
Weâre incredibly grateful to Sam Follows from @pmhcouncil for organising such a brilliant event and for creating a platform where Luke could shine and champion artists living with disabilities. We canât wait to do it again.
