Fabric and thread transformed into breathtaking displays and experiences..
I haven't stopped thinking about these two exhibitions since my visit to Hayward Gallery a couple of weeks ago. The photos/videos truly don't do them any justice.
One week left to go check them out if you're intrigued!
I didn't find my Letter of Thanks in there but maybe you will 😅

I only ever have the motivation to do one drawing a year and this is the prompt that called to me the most so we'll see if I do any more.. 😂 #pleasedontlookatthehands #egyptianking #lfc #inktober2025
I don't think i've ever painted more than I have in the last two weeks. Or been sun burnt AND rained on in the space of that same time before 😂
Being part of the volunteer team building the People's Pavilion outside the William Morris Gallery with @beyondtheb_x this year is the most gruelling yet fun time i've had in a good while.
It has been such an invaluable and hands-on experience, being on site to see a project through from architectural drawings to a physical structure and I made some great friends along the way too! 🫶🏽
Thank you so much @neilonions84 and the Beyond the Box team for all your hard work and for allowing me to be a part of it! ❤️

Some snapshots from wednesday's adventure amid all the running around ✨️

I had the pleasure of being a volunteer and helping out with the BIM in Series event 2025 at DMU on wednesday and what an invaluable experience it was.
Not only did it give me a great insight to the behind-the-scenes of organising such a highly acclaimed conference but also the presentations that took place on the day provided such a wonderful learning opportunity too. It was great to be a part of an initiative with the aim of bridging the gap between the education side and the industry side of architecture.
I'm still a bit rusty at networking face to face but value every conversation I had with those that I spoke to, as well as every chance that I got to sit in on talks inbetween the moments of being a human sign post directing people to the right rooms 😅
It was insightful to hear about how the use of BIM in architecture schools has evolved and is continuing to change with the times. It was also interesting to hear some ways that BIM is enabling more efficient and sustainable construction methods.
I was just as inspired by listening the presentations by those speakers who shared their personal experiences on how they have got to be where they are now. (I still can't believe there is an actual BIM olympics!?) The Big BIM debate was of course a highlight too!
Congratulations @arch_educator and Stefan for another brilliant event! I am super grateful to you Victoria for allowing me to be a part of it as well as to the DMU students for being so welcoming and bringing little old me into the fold 🫶🏽
And if you have not yet done so please consider checking out and supporting the @biminseries charity!

Pilotis.
Piloti.
This weeks adventure involves revisting Revit, reintroducing myself to some of Le Corbusier's work and remotivating myself to get back into sketching spaces that interest me.
I'm a bit rusty with the first one and I guess the sketching too but shout out to @archademia_ and their super thorough and helpful Revit course/s that are helping me get back on my way!

Just around 6 years ago I graduated with my part 1 degree in architecture and ever since then my architectural journey has had a bit of a standstill...
Personal reasons have played their part, the pandemic of course came along and I think a lack of luck when trying to get my foot through the industry's door has been a part of the hold up too.
Can you get imposter syndrome for a qualification that you devoted 3 full on years of your life to?
I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t been a disheartening experience. There have been many a day when my own brain as well as the comments of others have spurred on the idea that pursuing a career in this industry is a fools errand for me. However, feedback from the few interviews that I have had have been encouraging and the last two years have definitely been more positive in terms of progress.
Everyone's journey isn't the same nor is it a straight path, the important thing is to persist and not give up when you know what you're aiming towards is where you want to be.
I’ve networked a little more online and pushed myself to get out to some archi events when I've been able to and have also received a fair bit of much needed advice and guidance.
Not exactly sure what I want this page to be but I’m starting it off by following some of that advice and using it to share my design work – past and present. I do wish I’d consider it sooner but better late than never right?
Inspired a little by @to.scale this might be a journal/diary type page of my design journey among other things whether it leads to a career in architecture or not. I’m hoping along the way I’ll also figure out this whole “personal brand” thing too as I’m sort of still sat at the drawing board there 😅
Anyways if you’ve read this far I hope you stick around and enjoy my posts.
Above are some photos of my 3rd year sketch journal with some ideas / spaces I was designing for one of my 3rd year projects. More about that to come!
