Optimizer started in earnest with one day of demos at Electrical Audio, falling back on Daylight Savings Time in November of 2024. Our last day of tracking was springing ahead in March of 2025. I’ve thought of this as our Winter Album. It is colder, slower, and more weighed down than our prior releases. It is inward, surrounded by emotional clutter, sick with cabin fever. It’s looking out the window and wondering if things will change for the better, or even change at all.
Now here we are in March again, a few weeks past Daylight Savings. While the weather is still manic here in Chicago, we are looking forward to a new spring (and a new spring tour!) That span of years was a pretty rough period with a lot of hard internal work. These songs were written during and about that time. Things did change for the better. It’s easy to lose sight of that, especially when it isn’t easy, which it almost never is. But it’s important to remind yourself that personally and politically, change is possible.
And so we present to you, dear listener, 𝓞𝓹𝓽𝓲𝓶𝓲𝔃𝓮𝓻. We hope you love it. We worked very hard on it.
