“If perfection exists, then this venue, from a DJ's point of view, is that“. Inside Open Ground: Connecting people in Wuppertal The reputation of the Open Ground club in an underground bunker in Wuppertal has rapidly grown into mythical proportions among music heads across Europe. Is this the best sounding club in the world? How did this technical wonder emerge? And what’s the angle of the German music industry legends behind the club? This podcast deep dives into the fable of Open Ground through the investigative eyes of two seasoned electronic curators and DJ’s: Esther Wanyama aka N.E.GIRL (part of Strøms curator group) and Martin Fernando Jakobsen (Turning Tables). The duo visited the Deep Medi Special club night in November 2025 featuring luminary legends Mad Professor, Mark Ernestus, Mala, Sir Spyro and a spanking line-up from the label roster. Join their trip down into Open Ground, a music house dedicated to frequency geeks, sound system enthusiasts and people who want to explore new music. 🕳️ Listen to the full podcast ‘Inside Open Ground’ through the link in bio 🕳️ Edited and mastered by Anton Friisgaard Photos by Esther Wanyama, Martin Fernando Jakobsen, Open Ground. They have also released music on labels such as Kontoret Records, Sacred Interface, Ute Records, and Ooze Tales. Thanks to everyone who came by yesterday for the masterclass with Talons and Main Phase. During the three-hour session, the two went over various production techniques, sharing tips, tricks, and secrets about sidechains, drum pads, and how to use “questionable, rusty sample packs.” The session ended with a Q&A, revealing how their yin-yang-like skills, taste, and temperaments have made their workflow seamless since day one. Big shouts to the dons @mainphase93 @ta10ns for the amazing insights. Bless @thankyouforclapping for sharing their beautiful space with us and cheers to @anderskrogh for capturing the moments📸 If you would like more knowledge-sharing events, stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled right here 👀

Renowned producers, friends and labelmates Main Phase and Talons present an exclusive masterclass and Q&A: Going over production techniques, workflow, industry insights, and everything in between. ⚡️Strøm x TYFC presents: Masterclass with Talons & Main Phase ⚡️May 6th, 2026 ⚡️19.00 - 22.00 (doors 18.00) ⚡️Thank You For Clapping ⚡️Heimdalsgade 39 ⚡️2200 Kbh N During the session, Main Phase (Adam Emil Schierbeck) and Talons (Bjarke Bech) will write the beginning of a track, taking us through their creative process: Getting from idea to final form, creating drum patterns and grooves, mixing and exporting club-ready ideas. But also the more human side of things; the perks of co-producing, dealing with management, drunk promoters, and much more. 𝟓𝟎 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲, 𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞 (𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐢𝐨). 𝐃𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩. The two Copenhagen-based producers have made waves internationally with their UK-influenced take on everything from jungle and garage to bass music and dub techno. Main Phase played an instrumental part in the speed garage revival in recent years, notably with his releases as one-half of ATW, his duo and label with Interplanetary Criminal. Talons, fka Lille Høg, has returned to his first love of electronic music in 2025 and is now producing entirely with hardware equipment. His first EP Amar Dubs Vol. 1 spans the gamut from ambient to steppers, with later releases exploring more dancefloor-friendly territory. Together, their newly-started label First Touch Archives (referencing their previous moniker) serves as a home for Schierbeck & Bech’s more experimental music, which has already drawn support from the likes of Ben UFO, Richie Hawtin and Batu. About TYFC Thank You For Clapping (slide 5 and 6) is a platform for sound, music, design and food, based at Heimdalsgade 39 in Nørrebro. Founded and run by brothers Frederik and Jacob, TYFC functions as both a studio space and cultural venue. #strmdk #strøm

𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐲 𝐮𝐬, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 🌼 This April, Solbjerg Plads will turn into the Sun-Mountain Square, transformed by artist Victoria Mingot’s immersive sound installation at Lydbrøndene: 🌼Victoria Mingot: They tried to bury us, but they didn’t know we were seeds 🌼20 - 26 April 🌼Mon-Fri: 07.30 + 17.00 + 20.00 🌼Sat-Sun: 14.00 + 17.00 🌼Duration: 20 min 🌼Lydbrøndene, Solbjerg Plads 🌼Free entry 32 speakers are installed below ground all around Solbjerg Plads on Frederiksberg, allowing musicians to create multidimensional soundscapes on the multichannel sound system. Victoria Mingot has created an ambient soundscape of strings: Sounds planted like seeds in the ground, and growing from the sound wells like sprouts, in a spherical blooming. The composition will be playing three times a day Mon-Fri, and twice Sat-Sun. Just show up, let the sounds bloom from the ground all around you and experience how the square transforms, spring-like. The title of the sound installation is a quote from the Nicaraguan poet Ernesto Cardenas - and the piece is inspired by imagery from a small cemetery in the Palestine region that suddenly had a sea of yellow wildflowers growing upon it (video by Hatem H. Rawagh). Victoria Mingot writes about her inspirations for the work: “An ocean of bright yellow wildflowers bloomed, surprising visitors visiting their loved ones in a small cemetery in Gaza. Despite the raw wreckage from the relentless destruction around the area, the land needed no permission to extend its beauty. Nature, in her resilience, needs no permission for her blossoms and sprouts. This work is a reminder that innocence has not yet perished, though the oppressor may try to force riotous silence. Even if hope may seem buried or far, spring will always unfold its gifts. May we be like the wildflower.” 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 A New York born artist forging both experimental hardcore tekno music and experimental classical guitar recordings. This piece is a raw improvisational recording of two zithers and nylon guitar.

Electro-acoustic composer Hainbach uses vintage science equipment, esoteric synthesizers, obsolete hardware and reel-to-reel tapes to create experimental music and live sets that are described as ‘one hell of a trip’. 𝐎𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝟏5𝐭𝐡, 𝐒𝐭𝐫ø𝐦 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐄: A 45 minute talk on stage, followed by a one hour concert, featuring elements from Hainbach’s three day residency at the Strøm Studios. 📽Hainbach - artist talk and concert 📽Sunday February 15th at 19.00 📽ALICE, Nørre Allé 7, Kbh N 📽160 dkk at strm.dk (link in bio) Hainbach (aka Stefan Goetsch) is based in Berlin and shares his passion for forgotten machines and experimental music techniques on his YouTube channel, with a growing audience of more than 200.000 subscribers and over 20 million views. During his visit to Copenhagen, @hainbach101 will spend three days at the Strøm Studios, exploring our collection of vintage instruments and gear from Lydskatten - a unique machine park assembled from electronic pioneers Fuzzy, Else Marie Pade, and Gunner Møller Pedersen, as well as from Danish research labs at DTU and DR. Hainbach describes his work with odd, obsolete amd forgotten machines as ‘a bit of a dangerous way of making music, but also fun’: “Of course, some of these things can output crazy voltages. And it's easy to get a little shock or a bigger shock if you mis-patch something”, he says (quoted from Spitfire Audio). Hainbach’s newest album, Breve, was released September 2024 via Seil Records and features an ‘ondioline’: A tube based key instrument from the 1930s that is considered to be the ancestor of today's synthesizers. His body of work includes film soundtracks, chamber music, theater music, sound art installations and music software. @hainbach101 @alice_nbro #ambient #experimental #experimentalmusic #vintagesynths #vintagegear #lydskatten #strøm #strmdk

Here's another peak into our studio: Strøm & Musikforeningen Kapellet offer week-long residencies to local music producers in our Copenhagen-based studio, which is packed with vintage electronic instruments and studio equipment. RIZZLA BEATZ just enjoyed a residency at the location. Swipe for soundbites, keyboard obsessions, and hammock coziness! 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨? At the beginning of the week, I was trying to get a grasp of all the options in the studio. I was trying to collect sounds from machines I've never used before, but also just trying to play and enjoy the analog classics. I also sampled a lot of sfx from the vinyl collection. 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐞? The Prophet 6 module was really the star of the show. So many possibilities with such a machine. But connecting with other hardware modules made it go even further. And the Table rack had a nice lexicon reverb that went well with everything. 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤'𝐬 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤? I'm going to send out some samples I made to other producers around the world. Hopefully to get them placed with some musicians elsewhere. 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧? I tried to make some usable loops that people can use in their tracks. They are made as starting points for new music. I also made a folder containing different SFX samples from both synth and sampled vinyls. #strmdk #strøm #vintagegear #studiosession #vintagesynths #vintagesynthstudio #rizzlabeatz #residency @jeppebmuzik

Strøm Mixx 050: Om Unit @ Strøm Festival 2025 Reminiscent of those sunny, bass filled festival days we saved this one as a special winter treat. After a full day of sound system music at Freetown Christiania, Om Unit played a masterful two-hour closing set. Not only was it a journey through his sound; it felt like a step by step demonstration of how to reset a vibe and build it back up. With a refined sense of how to scale and intensify a musical storyline, this set exemplifies how some DJ’s have that special gift of feeling the vibe. Along with the mix we caught up with him to talk more about DJ’ing and his thoughts about the craft post-pandemic. Listen to the mix and read the interview through the link in bio 🔗 @om_unit
