Thanks to him and the promoter Klaus Klein, there were days of new music every year, where I met György Ligeti, Wolfgang Rihm, Aribert Reimann, and Hans Werner Henze in person, and encountered the music of John Cage, Earle Brown, and Feldman. I turned pages, listened to Ligeti talking about his piano études, and heard many first performances…New music was a common thing. Thanks to these influences, I could say that music of the post-war time was something that formed my childhood —it was vital and existential.” @alpha_classics @outheremusic @larsenstrings

Beginning of construction. In my workshop in Kraków, the next stage of the “Polonia” project begins — the construction of a new instrument based on the Stradivari “Polonia” (1685). The instrument is being built directly from data obtained through industrial CT scanning (Nikon M2 LES). Based on this data, construction molds and templates have been developed, which are now entering the stage of actual luthier work. The project is being carried out as part of my diploma work in artistic violin making at the Academy of Music in Poznań. @amuzpoznan I would like to thank @januszwawrowski.violin for the opportunity to conduct the research and for access to the instrument. W mojej pracowni w Krakowie rozpoczyna się kolejny etap projektu „Polonia” – budowa nowego instrumentu na modelu skrzypiec Stradivariego „Polonia” (1685). Instrument powstaje bezpośrednio na podstawie danych uzyskanych z tomografii przemysłowej (Nikon M2 LES). Na ich podstawie opracowane zostały formy i szablony konstrukcyjne, które teraz przechodzą w realną pracę lutniczą. Projekt realizuję w ramach pracy dyplomowej na kierunku lutnictwo artystyczne w Akademii Muzycznej w Poznaniu. Dziękuję Januszowi Wawrowskiemu za możliwość przeprowadzenia badań i dostęp do instrumentu.
