It's finally out – so incredibly happy!
The first of two albums with new recordings of 10 (!) of Anders Hillborg's works – the more-part world premiere recordings – spanning over 25 years of his output. @bisrecordsofficial
Especially thrilling on this album are the incredibly virtuoso soloists: Tamara Stefanovich mastering the very much previously overlooked Piano Concerto Nr 1 and Nicolas Altstaedt applying his magic to the Cello Concerto.
Also the wild and exhilarating orchestral work Varporised Tivoli and the beautiful string orchestra version of Kongsgaard Variations (which I had honour to premiere a few years ago) – all with the marvellous musicians in the Swedish Chamber Orchestra.

In 2024, Alexandre Kantorow received the Gilmore Artist Award. He used those funds to commission a brand-new work from Swedish composer Anders Hillborg. The result: The Kalamazoo Flow, a piece written for Kantorow and named for the city where The Gilmore Piano Festival calls home. ❤🎹
On May 2, Kantorow brings The Kalamazoo Flow to Kalamazoo for its U.S. premiere as part of his solo recital at Chenery Auditorium.
