Put the Metal to the Petal
The freshly glass-blasted bronze „Eternity“ is already a beauty to behold, but only a good polish makes it perfect. Enter the needles: held at a low angle, this tool condenses the surface rather than abrasing it, creating a wonderfully „vintage“ polished texture that can be further refined with rotaries if need(l)ed. A technique I learned from master chaser @haedi_ , working on an earlier piece at @strassacker

Christmas came early in 2026! For the past year I’ve been working with @formcapture to complete the final form of the sculpture Ett frö gror i en människosjäl (A seed grows in a human soul), one of the two sculptures that make up the Emigrant monument for @masthuggskajengbg , Gothenburg harbour. It’s quite incredible to finally see it to scale in sand from @voxeljet , here at @strassacker art foundry. I spent last week at the foundry carving out the texture of the fur collar. I’m loving the material and process discovery in the making of this piece. We’ve got some more work to do but soon this will be cast in bronze. Big big thanks to @peter_s_m and everyone at the foundry, Fred Hair, Dovydas Pocius and @kouga_gennouske for all your work on this thus far.
