Commission: Rope on Linen, 48x48” canvas / Miami. I lightly drew the line freehand using a ballpoint pen. When I apply the glue directly on top, the ink turns blue so I can see it clearly and precisely place the rope. But I can only go small sections at a time so the glue doesn’t dry. The drawing part is where the line has the freedom to flow around the surface—calm, meditative. The rope part is when the line observes the original path—control, time-constrained. So like most of my work, there is this balance of two worlds. #ropeart #ropeonlinen #artprocess #timelapseart #miami

Ultramarine Sand / St. Barth Made during my residency at @rosewoodleguanahani using sand collected from the shoreline. Across a dense ultramarine field, a single continuous line advances — emerging and disappearing like a current beneath the surface. The work explores material memory, geography, and the physical act of drawing with the landscape itself. Formed in an open studio, the painting carries the energy of the island and the presence of those who witnessed its making. #contemporarypainting #sandpainting #texturalart #artistresidency #stbarth

Bronze in production. Germany. Inspired by a moment in 2014 when I first saw brain coral and noticed its uncanny resemblance to the single line I’ve been drawing since 1988. So when a collector asked what I would create in bronze, I immediately returned to that epiphany — the realization that this line wasn’t just mine, but part of a larger biological language found in embryonic development, zebra stripes, and coral formations. @strassacker #bronzeart #bronzeproduction #artprocess #weldingprocess #sculpturecollector #germany

Florida Panther / Drawn in One Continuous Line Inspired by the photography of @natgeo photographer @carltonward . Thank you, Carlton. Created in honor of the endangered Florida panther, this work will be auctioned at the @livechozen gala, with proceeds benefiting conservation efforts dedicated to protecting one of Florida’s most iconic and threatened species. The piece was drawn entirely in a single unbroken line — a process of patience, instinct, and sustained attention. ** To attend the weekend event “Roots of Generation” or contribute to the cause, visit or follow @livechozen . #contemporaryart #floridapanther #artauction #miamiart #wildlifeconservation @_tonycho_

Mexico City, 2022 Copper leaf and acrylic on canvas 31 × 31 in A continuous line unfolds across the surface, its rhythm shaped by the weathered walls of Mexico City. Copper leaf catches and releases the light—shifting between presence and erosion—while the ground carries the memory of layered paint, time, and place. #contemporaryart #copperleaf #abstractpainting #artcollector #mexicocity

Reef / 2026 Private Collection, Ibiza Bronze with patina 160 × 162 × 185 cm 63 × 64 × 73 in Commissioned work. Inspired by the growth patterns of brain coral and the quiet intelligence of natural systems, the sculpture translates my one continuous line into three dimensions—expanding outward like an organism in motion. #bronzesculpture #contemporarysculpture #publicart #braincoral #ibizaart @strassacker

Private Collection / Palm Beach Rope and acrylic on canvas diptych 48 x 102 inches For every piece, the line has a mind of its own. I am only the messenger. Across these two canvases, it found the courage to leap from one surface to the next, discovering a new life in the space between. When I finish a work, I step back and ask myself: what was the line trying to say? #contemporaryart #diptych #monochromeart #artcollector #palmbeach

“I have been drawing the line since I was ten years old. Not because I was told to, but because something in me needed to.” Daniel Dugan’s (Los Angeles/Miami, 1978) @danielduganart work is characterized by one continuous, free-flow line which found him during his childhood. That swirling line that follows his consciousness led the way to an honors degree in pre-medicine focused on surgery. Then the line took a sudden and unexpected turn, as Daniel tends to do, towards the acting world in New York. After joining an artist friend to a paint store the line moved as paint for the first time during a series of Sunday get-togethers. The life of the soon-to-be artist changed when on a holiday, scuba diving he discovered brain coral. A peculiar organism moving in exactly the same pattern as Daniel had been drawing since he could remember. Later he discovered that this pattern returns again in the development of the embryonic cell. This was the final push of the universe that launched the artist across the world, following the line onto canvas, across walls as large-scale murals, carved into beaches with a stick at the water's edge and mowed into grass. Daniel has exhibited at Hilario Galguera @galeriahilariogalguera and as part of Art Baja @abcartbaja where he exhibited large-scale installations. His work is part of the Museo Jumex collection @museojumex Sick For School Tomorrow Opening, 9 May, 6pm. Enrique Wallon 417, Polanco. All works are available. Catalogue dropping soon.
