Voices of Northwood is a project I’ve been working on for over a year and it’s ready to be experienced. 5 unique audio compositions created using sounds from Northwood, playing on a loop at Blum Park and Serenity Park. Accompanied by physical sculptures created by the talented @mollyaubry . This was an experiment, very challenging but ultimately extremely fulfilling project, and I hope to work more in the sound installation realm in the future. Commissioned by @northwoodvillage CRA alongside @thecityofwpb ArtLifeWPB. Link in bio for more info, addresses, and to hear snippets of the compositions, but stop by the installations to hear the pieces in their entirety. Let me know what you think.

Fabulous Muscles is a :29 second video loop that won third place at the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County’s Juried “Biennial 2021" Description & credits below: Fabulous Muscles is a reference to a beautiful and unsettling song about love and violence by Xiu Xiu. It took conversations with Roger Jackson, Kevin Laurore & Akia Dorsainvil to feel comfortable with its creation and release. Maybe I’m still not comfortable with it. The intention of the piece is to show what the male gaze looks like toward gay black men. Though coming from a place of respect and admiration, there’s still a fear that artists are exploiting BIPOC and LGBTQ+ persons for our work, without any of the risk. This piece is both an example and a subversion of that feeling. As a creator, it’s safe behind the camera, asking collaborators to be open and vulnerable. In the end, does the world mimic the art or do we make each other stronger? Credits Created by Ates Isildak Featuring Roger Jackson & Kevin Laurore Music by John Richters @therealrogerthat @yourfriendkevinn @jjcontramus @palmbeachculture @opensea Fabulous Muscles is now for sale as an NFT on OpenSea.IO Portion of the sale will go to the Equal Justice Initiative, @palmbeachculture & the artists in the piece. Excited to announce that I am a recipient of the South Florida Cultural Consortium this year. I’ve been applying for 4 years, first introduced to me by Mumbi O'Brien, who was a recipient a few years back. I get some financial support and also the opportunity to be in some gallery shows this year. The work I submitted this year were my portraits and videos of Mumbi O'Brien, Roger Jackson, Kevin Laurore, Tama gucci, Akia Dorsainvil, Natalie Foucauld, Cody, Natalie, Lia, Leaf, Raul, Matt, and I love and appreciate all of you. I made this video as a submission for the Art In Public Places: 'The Commons' project, which I just found out I was selected for as well. Thanks everyone that believes in and supports my work, Yasemin, Derya, Ceren, my family in Turkey, Carly, Jacques de, Adam, Jellyfish Brothers, Eric, Dustin, Fernando Herman, Steven Rullman, Jason Erhart, Lauren Dwyer, Jessie, JJ, Oz, Zaii, Adolfo, Dan, CJ, Jimmy, Jordan, Cody Harrod, Lance INlighten, Christine Sylvain, Jay, Victoria Winslett, Lindsey Mills, Russell Louise Uddin, Tarruck, Rodney Mayo, Ilya, Aly, Liam Milano, Kismet Vintage, Respectable Street and anyone else I’ve worked with or have plans to work with. Hello everyone, few things, let’s start with, can you tell me if this is a real yoga pose or help me name it if not? Also, it’s been a while, I’m not out and about as often as I once was. Natalie and I bought a house in Lantana back in October and I spend almost all my time just fixing, adjusting, adding, building to it. It’s been more rewarding than anything I’ve ever done creatively in the past. I am also deep into mystical and spiritual studies and practices. I would love to see friends more, and make art with you creative people, but last year I knew I had to give up “the night life” to stop spinning my karmic wheels. I see Natalie after work. We work on our garden. I go to a Story Group on Wednesdays at Provedencia. I walk with David on Saturdays. I hang with our two Chihuahuas and one witch Cat. I am trying to be present as an Uncle to my sister Ceren’s new sweet child Cooper. And I enjoy my day-job at Loudr. Not sure how people find time for more than just a few key things in their lives. This has me full, but “fat and happy” as they say. Oh also Jay and I are starting a Middle Eastern inspired guitar building company, or at least a little dream side project. Anyhow, love you, miss you, if you’d like to spend time with me or us, just ask to come over sometime, one on one or a few pals is preferred as I’m trying to stay intentional. I’ve gotten to learn how sensitive I am to external stimulus (after about a year of taking a break from drinking) and I don’t like to be out in the tasteless businesses in PBC too much, where the music is always loud and bad and the lighting is terrible. Art show Friday at 1608 I’ll have photos of Nic, Kyle & Kacey. Love from the mystic Turkish pretzel, Ates

Some of the set from INC Chuchills @noworkrecords Will be back this Friday for @rafael.vargas.bernard @churchills_pub Words below in two parts. Somayah Saba Sharifi on the bans of women from the right to education in Afghanistan. And three Sufi verses from Hazrat Sutan Bahoo’s Aybat-e-Bahu “It doesn’t matter where you go to protests. It doesn’t matter how you protest. Protest in your heart. With your heart, demand what is truly your right. Go after it, no matter how. Protest with your pen, your voice, your tears - with whatever, just go after what is your right. We should not let the next generation be like this too. I don’t want any girl after me to cry for school. I had to come to a country where I don’t know its alphabet. Just because barbarians forced me out of my country. The Tlbn are foreigners in my country. Don’t let them stay. Don’t let them take the country you were born in - that is your land. Don’t give them that right. Afghanistan is your country, your right, your blood. It is your ancestral home.” Three verses from Aybat-e-Bahu: “My master has planted in my heart the jasmine seed of Allah’s سبحانه وتعالى name. Both my denial of the One & my embracing of the One have nourished the seedling deep to it’s core. When the buds of mystery unfolded into the blossoms of revelation,my entire being was filled with God’s fragrance. May the perfect master who has planted this jasmine in my heart be ever blessed o Bahu. Were my whole body adorned with eyes, I would gaze at my master with untiring awe. O how I wish that every poor of my body would turn into a million eyes, so as some closed to blink others would open to see. But even then my thirst to see him might remain unquenched, what else am I to do o Bahu.” @endgenderapartheid.today
