Designers are more than creators—they are powerful problem solvers. Our biggest takeaway from Design Week 2025? The core role of design is to inspire and impact those around us. A perfect example: the Nourish Together campaign. Committee member @ambrowne and speaker @reativille of @wearewerremeyer collaborated during the government shutdown to create a beautiful, effective campaign supporting Operation Food Search. This showcases the incredible power of design in action. As the holidays approach, let's keep that spirit going. If you’re a creative in St Louis, you should know about St. Louis Design Week. It’s a full week of workshops, networking, studio and agency tours, keynotes, a night market, and more! This was my first year volunteering/attending and it was definitely a big highlight of the year to be able to make friends with so many cool people. @stldesignweek centers around the diversity and magic of design. I love that experiences, discussions, and workshops leave guests with belief that they too are designers. Design extends into every bit of life. Here are Find Kind, we like to ask how can kindness be infused into projects… >> How do we prioritize community-building and inclusion in our efforts? >> How do we ensure that our event / resources are accessible to people who might not use the same transportation as you or have a body that functions like yours? >> How do we make the experience as seamless as possible by leaning on those in our corner? Eric & Mary Thoelke have been leaders of the local creative community for decades, and Design Week wouldn't exist without them. Can we shout "thank you" loud enough? Eric Thoelke (pronounced “toky”) founded TOKY in 1997 along with his wife, Mary Thoelke. Eric was selected as one of St. Louis Magazine’s “Great Minds” of St. Louis, and a “Buzz List” recipient from ALIVE magazine for co-founding the Midtown Alley Design District. Eric is an original co-founder of St. Louis Design Week and has co-led it for four non-sequential years. He co-chaired The St. Louis Addy Awards three times. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, the Luminary Center for the Arts, the AdClub of St. Louis, the St. Louis Chapter of the AIGA, and is currently on the Executive Board of the Frank Lloyd Wright House at Ebsworth Park.
