This is my 2021 comic Return. It's about connection / disconnection with the world around us. There's a bit of bushfire, a bit of bat, some lockdown, some meditation, and some eels transforming sailor moon style.

1-4. @scampcomicsfestival ! I was super lucky to be tabled beside @ctyalcinkaya and @queeniechanhere 😍
5. @mikehewson 's incredible work at @artgalleryofnsw is everything I love in art - collaborative, participatory, fun, accessible, reused, envisions a future which is kind of apocalyptic but somehow hopeful as well.
6. @glennyrichards who I've seen probably 15+ times... Though none in such an intimate venue with so much fancy original artwork on the walls.
7. Relocated this stick mantis who was in the middle of the wasteland of concrete which is our apartment's driveway

Belated recap of Parramatta Zine Fair last month run by @schoolofzines and Aphrodite (one of the brave few to divest from this scrollhole app.) Such a nice vibe, and very amusing that we were on at the same time as Oz comic con. What happened was I had a ton of bird drawings and added a tiny description to each and here we have, accidentally, my most popular zine.

The fourth picture is of a regent honeyeater, taken at Taronga Zoo. A zoo is likely to be the only place anybody will be able to see it in 20 years time despite an intensive breeding program, which is apparently only slowing its inevitable untimely extinction in the wild, unless a bunch of other measures are also implemented (nest protection, habitat protection and restoration, predator control) (Heinsohn et al 2022). Tho if anyone has a more optimistic outlook on this I'd love to know about it - I know there are some serious bird people among you.

A bushcare 101 zine, new this year. The images I've used come from a video series I made for a class (which many of you might've seen before I archived it). It covers what bushcare is, reasons it's good for you and the environment, and what you might expect. Super easy and very rewarding.
