My first hip hop magazine cover shoot. DMX. I waited 7 hours to shoot him. Iād never waited so long for a subject before. I left the shoot pissed off 3 times before we even started. I was 30, he was at the height of his career. I spent the day chasing him, and after this image, the rest of the time getting magic.
As fucked up as his life got later on, and into his illness, heāll always be remembered as a stone in the foundation of what we call hip hop.
