2025 was crazy, full of lows and some incredible high moments. I can’t believe so many things happened in one year. Let’s go 2026! Some of the highlights: 1-2: January - Still can’t believe that @fabio_andres and I took students to China to do a design build in Dongtou! 3: February - Got my thyroid removed 😬 It was definitely worth it but the recovery sucked. 4: April - @itsgalo and I Met Liana! @allycuervo @zackroif 5: April - @fabio_andres , @itsgalo , and I working on Flip! 6 -7: May - we went to Colorado for the summer! Worked on the site and got to see @thetimberage ‘s manufacturing in Mancos! 8: June - Built a cute storage shed 9: July - Big kid club! @leenkatrib @dedubs 10: July - Got married to my best friend @itsgalo 11: August - camped across Colorado! 12: September - @buildingfestival ! Stay tuned for the cool stuff happening in 2026 😉 13: September - Taught a WKU / KU combo studio with @dwgivs 14: October - went to my first Keeneland Horse Race 15: October - Had adventures trying to install beams on our site 16: Met Cyrus! @jistern & Brian Polgar 17: November: new project coming soon! 18: Spent my birthday in Miami! 19: went to China, again! 20: December - Had the first of our three meals for @brendanho and I’s book On the Table: How Food shapes the Built Environment! Echoing Paths is semi-permanent installation on Dongtou Island as part of a WKU and KU design-build initiative. The installation provides an interactive activity, layering the color with the landscapes alongside it. Each outdoor room provides an area for sitting, reflecting on the landscapes around, and a chance to leave messages on the bamboo for other visitors. Thank you to the Dongtou Government, WKU, and Kean University. An even bigger thank you to my co-coordinators David Vardy and @fabio_andres . I still have no idea how Fabio and I pulled off bringing 11 students to China on a fully funded trip. We are still recovering 😂. And to my team, you are the best and thank you for all your hard-work, enthusiasm, and positive attitude. Faculty: Stephanie Sang Delgado and Meng Kok Research Assistant: Li Xinsheng WKU & KU students: Patrick Gergich, Jessica Wang, Tommy Hoy, Zhao Jieyu (Emily), Cen Yujie (Zoey), and Li Hongjin (Annie)

Dongtou Island is gorgeous. I’ll share about the build later, just reminiscing about the beautiful landscapes and materials of the island.

Coming very soon to Dongtou Island in Wenzhou, China! This installation is part of four installations being built in mid-January as a collaboration between our Wenzhou-Kean and Union, NJ campuses. Each installation has a one US-based faculty member and a China-based faculty member with students from both campuses. We will be traveling to Wenzhou on January 8th, stay tuned! Another wonderful year @buildingfestival ! A huge thank you to @bethelwoodscenter @neallucashitch & @i____thee for a great event and bringing all of us together. And a huge thank you to @keanarch students for all their hard work and collaboration! For this year, we designed “Blocks” a temporary installation at Harvest Festival. Blocks is a modular furniture series designed to create an interactive and playful seating area for the Harvest Festival. Comprised of three components: an L-shaped bench, an L-shaped 6 step, and movable cubes, the project creates an engaging landscape that charges the user with defining its boundaries. The benches and steps are spread across the area to create different interaction zones, while the movable cubes can be stacked, moved, rotated, and shifted for individual needs. The movable cubes are clad on two sides with an alternating system of wood tiles and custom HDPE tiles. The HDPE tie-dye tiles are made from recycled HDPE plastic and cast in custom CNC-milled molds. This modular seating creates an engaging and versatile environment for all Harvest Festival visitors. Alongside the physical installation, an app was designed to provide an interactive and playful companion. Check it out on www.officeca.space/blocks.
