Still riding the high from last Thursday’s opening event at @billhodgesgallery
“Cover Art Inspired by the Works of Zora Neale Hurston” features 14 original pieces by artists I started commissioning back in 2019 for the repackaging of Zora Neale Hurston’s covers. It was powerful to experience these works displayed as a set in one room after many years of collaboration and only seeing them on screen.
Grateful for our incredible @amistadbooks team and their expertise behind the scenes organizing the opening. Thankful for our publisher @judithcurr whose vision for this project made Thursday’s event possible.

Deluxe editions for these two @harperonebooks masterpieces out this month, both loaded with foils, metallic inks, gilded edges, sculpture embossing, custom end papers, every trick in the book. So good to have these iconic packages by @jimctierney and @kglyder elevated to deluxe status.
