“My Valentine” has made the journey home safely from LA to Austin. Hit me up for a studio visit in my new space in Austin to see these puppies in real life. I’m obsessed 🙂‍↕️.

It’s already the very last day that ‘One Bad Monkey’ will be open. It was so great to see all the pieces come together in this beautiful gallery. Now Lucy in disguise on SoCo has announced it’s closing, the themes of the exhibition seem even more pressing and relevant. Go check it out today to see Austin’s rooftop characters, and my works inspired by them, one more time in their full glory. #womenandtheirwork #onebadmonkey #lucyindisguise #austinartist #austintx #exhibitionclosing

It’s been one month since we finished the install of Cazimi. Cazimi (“in the heart of the sun”), is a quilted sculpture offering shelter from the Texas sun. The colorful fabric planes interact with the sun’s movement across the sky, casting shadows that shift throughout the days and seasons Precisely aligned to the cardinal directions, cazimi serves as a point of orientation. Inviting visitors to pause and be mindful of our place within the vast cosmos, here and now. . . On view through @thetrailconservancy and @cityofaustinarts until February 2027. 📍Located along the Ann & Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail, at the International Shores trail marker on East Lakeshore Drive.

Like a wildflower blooming through the cracks in a street, the artist must be resilient. While the world is ablaze with conflict and deception, the artist must set their sights on truth and turn toward light, like flowers to the sun. What is envisioned in our path forward, and what are we leaving behind? Join us this Saturday for the opening of Flowers & Friends 2, rain or shine. Opening Night | April 18, 6-11 PM 80 Rainey St, Austin, TX 78701 Follow the flower decals from Paseo to the “In Residence” gallery and enjoy live flower drawing, meet the artists, and explore a wide range of artwork and affordable prints, free mini bouquets and a vase raffle. The making of our dream project, “Skyfall.” A monumental fabric installation for the @austinstudiotour x @canopyaustin x @topo.dg . . . We ordered over 470’ of Waterproof, 5 year light fade resistant fabric from @fabricwholesaledirect . Designed the panels, scaled and projected the individual shapes across 8 bolts of fabric pinned to the studio wall. Traced every single shape, reset the projection file and re-pinned more blank fabric. Rented a half court basketball gym and threw a “cutting party,” with a lot of love and help from our friends. Organized the shapes into groups and began pinning and sewing every connecting line. Eventually the panels got so big we dubbed them “slugs,” because of how heavy and slow they went through the machine. This fabric was thick y’all. We broke a record for Steef on “the largest fabric object she’s ever sewn.” Next up was ironing every single seam flat, grommeting the attachment points, installing hardware and then installing the project into the Atrium at Canopy. We somehow managed to construct this entire project in 3 weeks. Our average work day was between 16 hours and 28 hours. Yes you read that right. From there, we also got the best compliment of our lives, “Crackhead vampire geniuses.” - @rebholzjones . . . Thanks for following along, if you actually watched the whole video, you’re a real one. Thanks for that! ✌🏼& ♥️, @steefcrombach @priscillalustig . . . Special credits to everyone who helped make this dream come to reality, we couldn’t have done it without your emotional and physical support 🫶🏼 @lalley @killer.drone.sandwich @dustyhermitxo @ericaprasadart @rammusic11289 @studioofdesign @the_postel_group @maddywhite2 @icosa_art @rebholzjones
