✨ Last weekend, @stavyeini wove sound, memory, and community across Düsseldorf — from an installation out of words and sounds at Velvet Collective to a collective sound immersion at Malkasten with the launch of Arts of the Working Class No. 38.
🌀 Every Sunday until the end of October, „Hydrate Telepathy“ can be heard at Velvet’s sound bar — a meditation guided by music, flowing quietly within the city’s noise.

From September 5 to 7, Stav Yeini transforms @velvet__collective and @kuenstlerverein_malkasten into spaces where bodies and memories converge, offering an alternative to the alienation imposed by our excruciating times.
Yeini’s work examines how collective listening and shared attention can rebuild connections fractured by labor, extraction, and social inequality.
At Velvet Collective, the installation “Hydrate Telepathy” merges water, vibration, and resonance to create a continuous field of sonic and bodily attunement. Throughout the weekend, artists that shape the nights include Toulouse Lowtrax, Monella, Gregor Darmann, and Sebastian Welicki.
The program reaches its peak on September 7 from 5 pm on in Malkasten’s park, where Yeini stages a sound immersion coinciding with the launch of Arts of the Working Class Issue No. 38. This gathering emphasizes collective memory, relationality, and embodied knowledge as counterforces to the commodification of culture. Jella&Ja Jess contribute a layered colophon of poetry, voice, and digital sounds at sunset, tracing histories that have been suppressed, forgotten, or buried beneath social and economic hierarchies.

These words are by @stavyeini — an artist who creates spaces where the body becomes an instrument of collective memory and transformation. Drawing on dream fragments, embodied listening, and the invisible architectures that connect us, her practice explores how communities can be reimagined in times of rupture.
For @dc_open — Düsseldorf and Cologne’s annual weekend of gallery and art space openings — Yeini’s work unfolds across both the collective energy of the city and moments of intimate listening. Her performance for the closing at Malkasten Park invites audiences to gather for the final encounters of the weekend, while the Velvet Collective presents an installation that can be experienced throughout the day.

Roots like veins pumping from the heart of the earth to our human heart
Springing tones of fresh streaming rivers…Continuing the movement that begun before us and will continue after all the life will pass through this channels.
Our bodies start breathing earth, harmonising with her, seeing-feeling her in our veins brains, blood, DNA,
Sending nourishment , sending remembrance, sending water infused with rosemary and vanilla, sending oranges and rose petals, whispering validity to your deepest fears, deepest depressions, deepest desires. Singing acknowledgments to the mute parts of you, to the broken, the unspoken, to the unacknowledged loss, the hidden, the unheard of. Deep deep listening IS the birthing of this new ERA. I am you, the earth is me and we are one body.
Body of knowledge, body of water, body of memory, body of inheritance - body of interwoven inheritance. An architecture of ancestral transmissions.
The stories that live in our bones
The fire that burns through our gut feeling
Ancient memories and future frequencies are being reclaimed
