First. Annual. Soup. Cook-Off. In. The. Books!
Over 100 guests gathered in our production kitchen to share soup, stories, and gratitude, and to learn more about our workforce culinary training program. There were chowders, stews, and soups from Mexico, West Africa, Italy, and beyond. We crowned a winner (and yes, there were tears), especially hearing George from Akadi tell his powerful story. Thank you for sharing with us!
Highlights from the day:
🥣 Kachka donating their leftover soup to Urban Gleaners (who will then distribute it to people in need)
👩🍳 Our graduates stepping up as chef liaisons and owning the space and everything they learned in the program!
🤝 New friendships forming, with coffee dates already on the calendar!
