This week we kicked off Give!Guideâs Skidmore Prize nomination period! Weâre accepting nominations (link in bio) until 11:59 pm March 24.
Do you know an extraordinary nonprofit professional (35&U) who deserves recognition for their contributions to the community? Nowâs your chance to let us know. â¨
Eligible nominees must be 35 or younger and employed full time at a nonprofit in Multnomah, Clackamas, or Washington county. Beyond that, weâre looking for exceptional young people with passion, purpose, and a commitment to making Portland (and beyond) a better place for everyone.
Fine print: You canât nominate yourself but your friends, coworkers, volunteers, board members, family can - pretty much anyone in your universe looking to brag about you. đĽ°
If you know someone who fits the bill, just click the link in our bio to submit your nomination. The more the merrier, so please spread the word!

First and foremost: THANK YOU. đŤ After 61 donation-filled days, @willametteweek âs annual end-of-year effort to raise awareness and funds for local nonprofits came to a hard stop at 11:59 pm last night.
The vault closed with $9,259,154 raised for 277 local nonprofits that serve Multnomah, Clackamas, and Washington counties. This is the most raised in Give!Guideâs 22-year history and beats our audacious $9 million goal.
Itâs an especially nice way to put a cap on what was otherwise a dicey, turbulent year. As Give!Guide donors, you bucked a national trend marked by declining charitable donations from everyday givers. Not here! 17,584 of you stepped up to give. Some of you gave big. Most of you gave $10 here or there as you could spare it.
That matters: Your gifts added up. Youâve helped fund these nonprofitsâ mission-driven work during the year ahead. That means more good work in areas from hunger relief and housing to health care, the arts, and climate action. Weâll share a deeper look at Give!Guideâs final numbers in the days ahead, but one thing is already clear: WWâs G!G works because of you. đ
Hey buds, weâre officially at the end of the road of this yearâs Give!Guide campaign. The vault closes at midnight, and hundreds of local organizations are counting on todayâs support from you, your friends, your family, and community members to reach their Give!Guide goals. đŤ
Weâre not crying, you are! (Okay, maybe weâre all crying a little.)
Itâs been a rollercoaster ride that started with the Give!Guide headquarters setting its most tremendous goal yet: $9 million. This year exemplified exactly how far a lot of optimism and a little whimsical delusion can go in a tricky fundraising climate. Whichâunless youâve been under a rock for the last 13 monthsâis exactly what 2025 brought.
If you have been under a rock, please crawl out and make your donations now while it still counts! âşď¸
Whether you donate big or small, it counts. Every donation helps secure critical funding for the 277 nonprofits in the Portland metro area careening into the new year. Theyâre here for you year round, and you need to be here for them NOW. Donât wait. The end is near.
Head on over to giveguide.org to give, give, give. Help us reach this year's goal before the clock strikes 11:59 pm!
Heads up: just two more giving days left before Give!Guide 2025 is in the books! Which means today is our final Big Give Day, sponsored by the @orculturaltrust . Weâre closing in on our goal of $9M â will you pitch in and help us get there?

Well, it's that time of year again. The end of the year brings the holidays, and also the end of the current year's Give!Guide campaign. We're ready to kick things into gear with a slew of Big Give Days, starting Saturday and ending on 12/30, and hope you are too! đĽł
But before we do, we wanted to share with you another category spotlight. Today's spotlight is shining on the Creative Expression category. Nonprofits in this category create moments creative refuge when the going gets tough. đ¨
"Creative expression is an incredibly powerful tool to imagine better futures and work toward them together â which is why itâs so dangerous when this presidential administration attacks communities' access to it," shares Meg Schenk on behalf of the Creative Expression category. "It can be easy to feel powerless right now. But if thereâs one action you take today, I hope itâs donating to an organization below. We need them so every Portlander knows that spark of recognition and belonging. So we can all be a part of something bigger."
Head to the link in our bio to check out the nonprofits in this year's Creative Expression category, and donate while you're there. đ
We're barreling toward the end of this year's Give!Guide campaign, and we have a lot to look forward to. That includes introducing you to the remaining winners of this year's Skidmore Prize; meet Frances Andonopoulos, founder and director of @sincerestudiopdx .
Their journey to founding Sincere Studio was not exactly a straight line. They had lost their job and were receiving unemployment benefits; ironically, this allowed them to transform their long-held hobby into a valuable community service. âOregon has this program where if youâre on unemployment, you can apply to start your own business and still keep your unemployment benefits," explained Andonopoulos. âSo I was like, let me just try, because I honestly donât know if Iâm ever going to have an opportunity like this.â
Sincere Studio is Portlandâs first nonprofit community sewing center. Effectively, it's a community sewing space where people from all economic backgrounds could learn to sew. A nonprofit that could serve as both a creative and educational haven, offering classes, hosting meetups, and providing a hub for skill sharing that would foster and strengthen community across economic lines.
Andonopoulos expected that in the first year theyâd be lucky to build a small group of eager students. But instead of a slow build, Sincere Studio has been steadily growing since its inception, creating a safe and welcoming space where people of all genders, races, ages, and abilities can learn the basics of sewing â just as intended.

People all across the nation are experiencing increased food insecurity; the Portland metro area is no exception. More and more often, we are seeing community members struggle to figure out where theirâand their family'sânext meal is going to come from. And when people experience hunger, it affects their health and stability.
"Food is not something people should have to earn. It is a basic need, and access to nourishment should be shared freely with compassion and dignity," shares Daisha Wilby from @sunshinedivision , on behalf od the nonprofits in this year's Hunger category.
"Thankfully, this is home to an incredible network of organizations that refuse to let their neighbors go hungry...advocates and educators are on the front lines to remove barriers, address root causes, and create lasting change. They share resources, collaborate on outreach, and respond quickly as demand grows, ensuring that every effort strengthens the next...This community and your support make that possible every day."
That's why a donation to any of the 24 nonprofits participating in this year's Give!Guide Hunger category is so vital! Head to giveguide.org to donate now, and know that you're helping put food in hungry bellies throughout our community. đ˝đ
