Hello Stars,
I’m excited to share that I’m currently working on a zine that celebrates what we’ve been building through our Star Trials community.
Growing up, I used to get completely lost in the pages of magazines I’d find at Coconuts, 7-Eleven or Borders (RIP). Mountains of shelves filled with Slam magazine, Architectural Digest, Juxtapoz, and The Source made my imagination explode. They weren’t just magazines, they were tactile gateways to worlds I hadn’t seen or heard yet. The paper felt alive. Long before the constant scrolling on our phone, those physical pages showed me how powerful it is to hold inspiration in your hands.
That’s why this zine matters. In an age dominated by digital media, we’re craving something real again. This zine will be something you can travel with and share with friends. It’s a return to the roots of creativity, something tangible, and full of life. Star Trials isn’t just a community, it’s a story unfolding one step, one page at a time. And this zine is the next chapter. Stay tuned. Zine in progress.
To celebrate the 2026 Year of the Horse, Star Trails reached out to artist @ramiro_arte_ to capture the strength, and freedom a horse represents.
The Year of the Horse reminds us that success comes from consistent focus, courage to explore new paths, and the ability to balance strength with community along the journey. Aligning these positive attributes with Star Trails, Ramiro created an original painting titled “The Lone Star,” This painting will be unveiled May 24th at @novel.pizza , 1759 W 19th St from 12-5 pm
Join us alongside a community of adventurous, like minded people, share stories, and connect with others who find inspiration outdoors.
What do you get when you mix passion, family, and hard work? What comes out the other end is pure Heart. Mirroring his personal life into his work delivers a real authentic feeling of familiarity. @ramiro_arte_ painting in wicker park. April 2026
Before ACG, there was the LDV
In 1978, a group of mountaineers became the first Americans to not only ascend the world’s second-tallest mountain, K2, but do it without oxygen. Doctors advised against attempting the ascent without a supplemental supply. Even worse, the summit’s toll was simple and grim: on average, for every four climbers who went up, only three came down.
Prior to the expedition, they sought donations from several companies to fund the expedition—one of which, at the time, was a fledgling fitness startup called Nike. The group promised Nike they would receive photos of their product on the mountain. Along with a cash donation, Nike sent every member of the team a pair of their latest running shoe—the LDV—for the unforgiving 110-mile hike into base camp.
Compared to the cumbersome leather boots the climbers were accustomed to, Nike’s shoes were revolutionary. The LDVs were breathable, bouncy, and lightweight, with a waffle-tread sole for boulder hopping and a straight last for support. The climbers also loved that the LDV didn’t get bogged down when wet, unlike traditional leather boots, which kept their legs fresh for the climb.
Through boldness and bravery, they successfully summited K2—and a pair of Nike LDV running shoes helped make it possible. Before hiking out, they snapped the now-famous photo of themselves in their battered LDVs, with one of them giving a thumbs-up of approval.
On the descent, the group began talking about how they would further modify the LDV. Nike “All Conditions Gear” wouldn’t formally launch for nearly a decade, but the expedition would reshape the outdoor footwear industry and lay the blueprint for what followed.
The LDV’s origin story of high-altitude grit and adventure makes us proud to be exclusive launch partners of the new Nike ACG LDV, a modern interpretation of the original sneaker that features a leather and textile upper for durability and padding, a ReactX cushioned midsole for support, and an adjusted ATC (All Terrain Compound) outsole for increased traction.

New look, same ol’ twinkle in the sky. Star Trails returns more sharp and refined.
Evolving from the original design of 2 stars bound together in a circle. The two stars symbolize the collaboration between yourself and others and the circle symbolizing an environment within that shared experience .
The new design reflects the attitude Star Trails has moving forward, more sharp, and balanced. Star Trails, we shine brighter together.
Light the way.
Early is on time, on time is late, and late is unacceptable. The GA2100 family of watches was unveiled in 2019, and they’ve since become some of G-SHOCK’s best sellers. The octagonal bezel and boldly raised hour markers are popular design features. The G-SHOCK GA2100-1A1 in monochromatic black often appeals to those who don’t need a watch that announces its presence, but instead need a watch that’s admired when noticed.
Four days in CDMX was not enough. Tacos, arenas, and good drinks with good people. Until next time. Comment LIST and I’ll send you the complete guide to CDMX 🇲🇽
There’s no denying the outdoor landscape has been on the incline and Chicago is no exception to the movement. @huckberry Huckberry just planted its new flagship in the heart of Lincoln Park, blending adventure with everyday style.
