Happy #mooniemonday folks!! 💖🌙 Got Saturn on the brain since I just cosplayed her a couple of weekends ago, and it was nice getting to be everyone's favorite goth bby again 🥹🥹I even got to reuse some of the accessories from this punk cosplay for her!! (Namely the double belt, chains, and bracelets) It's nice finding new uses for the cosplay items you already own, especially if they were bought for very specific outfits lmao 😂😂 I even reused my old bat from my Botan cosplay for this particular photo! The color scheme matched her glaive so well, and it felt more appropriate for the punk look than a huge honking blade 🥲🥲I'd love to give Punk Saturn another spin someday, since I'm really proud of how she turned out!

LONG TIME NO SEE FOLKS... 😭😭This past month has been a whirlwind of shoots and events so I haven't had the mental bandwidth to post anything until now 🥲🥲I wanted to share some Nene though since I realized I haven't posted my TBHK cosplays as much as my magical girl stuff!! And after running around as Shijima at Fanfaire a couple of weeks ago (and having a surprising amount of people recognize the cosplay, like wtf how did you guys clock it so fast 😭), I wanted to give it some more rep here 😂😂 (Is this a coping mechanism for the manga being on hiatus still? No, absolutely not, why would you assume that 🫠🫠)
I'm still so proud of how Nene turned out though! 🥹🥹💖💖While I'd probably tweak some things if I wore her again (like maybe putting some boning in her belt to keep it smooth), I'm happy I managed to pull her off somehow 😭Especially the tights! (Which you can't see here but shhh)

Although on that subject, I do wish Chibi's Moon Kaleidoscope looked a little different from Usagi's in canon too 😭😭I guess it's good for ME, since I can reuse them between cosplays, but just because she's Usagi's daughter doesn't mean she can't have something unique of her own too!! 😭😭

Happy birthday to my very favorite girl, Sakura Kinomoto 🥳🎉🎊!!! (And also a number of other characters in the CLAMP canon, but this Sakura takes priority ok 😤😤) It's no secret that I love CCS with all of my heart, ever since I was in sixth grade and only knew it as Cardcaptors (and then the internet opened my mind to all of the changes this poor series went through, sobs), and it's been such a joy channeling that love through cosplay over the years 😭😭I think I've done at least 8 different Sakura outfits over the years, and I definitely have plans to add more to that pile in the future 😂😂 (Some that are tangentially Sakura related but are not, iykyk 😉) Thankfully, Sakura has like infinite outfits thanks to Tomoyo, so I have plenty of inspiration for years to come lmao 😂😂😂

The films have had a track record with some absolutely Big Brain Decisions when it comes to actors, and Kristen Bell as Amy just continues the trend imo 🥹 (Although now I can't get her singing Love Is an Open Door out of my head lmaoooo) Admittedly, I have some trepidations about how this movie might go because SEGA has uh... been not Great with handling Amy's character in the past (and present, tbh-- please give her some personality outside of being Girl back pls, thank you 🫠) but we'll see how things go!! Happy #magicalgirlmonday folks!! 💖💖 It's crazy to think that a year ago, I was deep in crunch mode for this cosplay lmao 😭😭Platinum Sakura happened thanks to me wanting to experiment with some fabrics I had just bought and hoping beyond hope that I would get it done for cherry blossom season 🥲🥲But I'm glad I followed my impulses and went for it, because I think it turned out super cute in the end!! There were definitely some struggles along the way, like getting those sleeves to stop sliding down my shoulders and my hair ties having a mind of their own (y'all don't know how much editing magic Allison did to keep them symmetrical 😭😭) but they were all definitely learning experiences and I honed in on ways to fix them when I wore her to Magical Girl Fest lmao 😂😂 So don't let anyone tell you that things need to be perfect from the get go, because there's always time to improve them later! And things you might not know in the moment may help you later down the line too 🫰The beauty of this hobby is that we're always learning and growing, so make what you can with the toolbox you have now and go back to tweak it once you feel more confident to do so!
