Meeting Arden Cho at NYCC today honestly means so much to me. 🥹
Rumi, along with this entire film, is a character who’s become such a source of light during a really hard year. This film has reminded me to love myself through the chaos, to embrace who I am, and to stop trying to fix everything and everyone around me.
Arden’s voice, her heart, and her message as Rumi has touched us all in different ways. She’s shown that it’s never too late to follow your dreams or to start believing in yourself again.
Like Rumi, I’m learning to let go, to give myself grace, and to see beauty in the mess of growing. This story, this character, and today’s moment reminded me that healing can come from the most unexpected places, even an animated demon-slaying kpop girlie. 💜

The resurgence of the ACOTAR series is something I never expected to see. Roughly a decade ago, @shnikki_reads introduced me to this series along with the other titles from SJM. I had always been an avid reader of fantasy ever since I was a child, so of course I gobbled these up and wanted even more.
And now as a cosplayer, I get this privilege to embody some of the characters that have given me strength in dark times. To be here with my friends, as Rhysand, is something special for me.
We had an amazing shoot during CCE that reinvigorated me. For the stories and characters that make us feel loved.

What started as a side gig turned into something so much bigger: themed cocktails, heated tie-breaker rounds, costumes, chaos (the fun kind), and the most incredible bookish community we could have ever hoped for.

We are endlessly grateful to the local businesses who believed in us from the very beginning, especially @the_chubby_pickle for opening your doors and helping us build something magical right here at home. Being Jersey born and raised makes creating this community here mean even more to us. 🖤
