This is one our favorite things in the shop.
We’ve had a few different overdye colors at the shop. Purple, two different shades of green, and a handful of bright yellow. This red is something special though. It’s deep. Bold and subtle at the same time.
We get these jackets from @stanrayusa down in Texas. They come to us in a classic hickory stripe - a lot of the time we just sell those as is, but sometimes we pack them back up and send them off to our friends at @tsdesignsnc in Burlington, NC to get dyed.
This process completely changes the fabric. It becomes softer, more broken in.
Most fabrics are dyed before they are turned into something. When you dye a completed piece like this, the color takes in different ways - each one is kind unique and special. We really love how they turn out.
It takes more time and effort to get these made but we think it’s worth it.
