Congratulations to Emily Harter (MFA ’25), recipient of the AAF/Seebacher Prize for Fine Arts! 🎉
This summer, Emily will spend two weeks in Salzburg, Austria, where she will be taking an etching course at the Summer Arts Academy alongside other emerging artists. The AAF/Seebacher Prize supports three outstanding recent MFA graduates annually, covering tuition and lodging in a historic castle.

Today and Friday are the last two days of my solo exhibit “Ashes of Memory: Installations and Paintings by Xiaoze Xie” at the Stanford Art Gallery. Curated by Janna Keegan of the De Young Museum, the exhibit highlights my new installation “Sarajevo” in dialogue with early work “Nocturne: Burning of Books by the Nazis”, both explore the vulnerability of culture and historical memory. Also included are a group of paintings from the “Library Series” and video installation “Transience” inspired by book burning events in human history. The Stanford Art Gallery is located at 419 Lasuen Mall, Stanford, next to the Hoover Institution, open Monday through Friday, 11am - 5pm.
