On Saturday 6th of June we will be welcoming a very special team to St Eia. @camille_se1 will be making the long trek from Borough Market, down to west Penwith; bringing their neatly ironed shirts and French bistro classics.
Camille has made a name for themselves through their use of offal, whole carcass butchery and house charcuterie. The kitchen will be lead by the talented @elliothashtroudi , along with Penzance’s very own @natdwelly@charlienewsome_ will be popping some bangers from our cellar. Whilst @maxhancock54 will be bringing some Camille classics to keep you hydrated all day.
Please join us for lunch, dinner or just a drink. Hopefully a sunny day will have the power to transport you to a French courtyard, with tables for aperitifs, wine and culinary delights all day long.
Bookings are via our website. First come first served.
Please note, we won’t be able to cater for vegetarians or vegans at this event.
Many thanks to @lukeedwardhall for the incredible poster

A beautiful home from home
There’s a place tucked quietly away, the kind you don’t stumble upon so much as feel drawn to. By day, it hums gently with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the comforting warmth of homemade bakes. Light spills through the windows, catching on shelves lined with thoughtfully chosen wines each bottle a story waiting to be shared.
As the afternoon softens into evening, the space transforms. Plates of homecooked tapas begin to grace the tables simple, honest dishes made for lingering conversations and second helpings. And when night settles in, candles flicker to life, casting a golden glow that turns every dinner into something intimate, something memorable.
But more than anything, it’s the people who make this place what it is. The staff don’t just serve you they welcome you, remember you and look after you. They move with an ease and warmth that makes it feel less like a business and more like being invited into someone’s home. It’s the kind of place you return to, not just for the food or the wine, but for the feeling that, somehow, you belong there.

“A meal isn’t really complete without our Butter beans & lemon, it’s a delightful way to kick things off. Our Newlyn crab on toast and braised beans & Coombeshead smoked sausage are well-loved favourites. The restaurant has developed from a very simple starting point and we have built upon these foundations.
In the Winter, we definitely lean into comforting hearty dishes: French onion soup, pies, braises and steamed puddings. We really love the way the restaurant feels on dark Winter evenings, with plenty of candles lit and steamy windows!”

A slow Easter weekend in St Ives 🏄‍♂️
A few days on the Cornish coast and we completely understood why people keep coming back. Sea air, coastal walks, surfers in the background, Cornish pastries between coffee stops, fish & chips by the harbour and sunset drinks.
It’s relaxed, low key, and full of great little food spots, wine bars and cute interior and boutique shops, with that easy seaside rhythm that makes the trip feel like a proper break.
Our full Cornwall guide is now live on the Sisters Approve Google Maps (linked in bio) ready for your next coastal escape ✨#sistersapproved 🌶️

“Our food is very much influenced by travels through France & Spain, eating locally, seasonally & simply.
When we first started looking for produce to create a menu, we felt incredibly lucky to be able to build a menu around fresh ingredients that are actually sourced locally.”

“Our fish is brought into Newlyn Harbour, 25 mins away, our mackerel is from St. Ives. Meat comes from Coombeshead Farm & Warrens butchers. The majority of our fruit and vegetables are grown locally in Porthleven and near Penzance. It really doesn’t travel far, or get stored in cold rooms, so it gets to us in wonderful condition.Â
With such wonderful produce available to us we feel that these should be allowed to shine.”

This Sunday, we are celebrating International Women’s day in the way we know best, with wine & cheese!
From midday until 3pm we will be pouring a smashing lineup of wines from female producers; Claire Naudin, Eva Fricke & Katie Worobeck of Maison Maenad to name but a few. Everything open by the glass.
Alongside the wines, we have four fantastic cheeses made by women in the British Isles, from our friends at @nealsyarddairy
The British Isles have a vast history of women making cheese which continues to this day. Cheesemaking was predominantly the preserve of women until the early 20th century when cheesemaking became faster & mass-produced.
Today there is a resurgence in farmhouse cheesemaking and we have four of our favourites; Stonebeck Wensleydale made by Sally & Andrew Hattan in North Yorkshire, St. Jude’s made by Julie Cheyney in Suffolk, Pevensey Blue made by Hazel and Martin Tkalez, (a relatively new recipe developed by them less than ten years ago inspired by a Gorgonzola-style recipe) and Durras now made by Sarah Hennessy who’s mother developed the recipe for the buttery, rind-washed cheese in Cork in the 1970’s as part of a community of women helping to reinvigorate farmhouse cheesemaking.
Join us for this perfect pairing. The wines & cheeses will run alongside our a la carte lunch menu for those wanting a little more for lunch.
We still have a couple of tables left for Valentine’s supper.
Oysters, Champagne & mood lighting, what more could you need?!
