Anything by @jackjohnson colors my entire childhood on Maui. From lavender sunsets to scorching hot beach days, his music was playing on some stereo, mixing with the island breeze
I remember being particularly enchanted by this song growing up. The guitar part was a departure from his other sounds and it’s such a short tune anyone not paying attention could miss it. It’s probably why a lot of my early work is 2 minutes or less.
I always thought it was out of my league to play, but I looked up the chords yesterday and learned it in a couple minutes. Turns out, it’s the perfect song to incorporate into my practice as I’m leaning more into these chords and rhythms in my own songwriting.
I love revisiting songs decades later and finding new connections with them. Thanks Jack ❤️
With AI on the rise, thought I’d share the process of how I created a stop motion music video 100% with my human brain (and 3 days of arts and crafts with my human hands) 👋 The video is made up of 3000+ still images and stitched together. Shoutout to @callmeyo for 📸
The final video is up on YT ;)
