𝐋𝐞𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧!
On this day exactly 10 years ago, we released our second full-length album, Juniper. The album marked a fundamental shift for us at the time: our first after having moved 700 miles across the country and into the same house together after all graduating music school, our first recording process as a trio and true “band” - intentionally recording full, live takes of collaboratively-written songs on a focused setup of drums/Rhodes/vibes, as opposed to the fragmented process of our heavily-overdubbed debut album Corners - and Square Peg’s first time releasing music on a proper record label.
SO much has changed for us since Juniper’s release on March 25th, 2016 - three weddings, two children, two more full-length albums and two EP’s, dozens of shows all over the country - but we are still so fondly proud of our efforts on this collection of songs and are immensely grateful for all of the opportunities this album in particular has paved the way for over the last decade.
Over the coming months, we will be celebrating Juniper’s 10-year anniversary in a whole slew of exciting ways. To kick things off, we are so excited to share our very own
@evanmchapman ’s “decade rework” of the song “Our Town”. Evan cracked back open years-old session files, stems, and sample folders to rebuild an old favorite from the ground up, also enlisting the talents of
@samtorresnoise on saxophone and mastering by
@_mpoirier . Head to the 🔗 in our bio to stream “Our Town (Evan Chapman Decade Rework)”, and keep your eyes peeled for more anniversary goodies to be unleashed. Infinite thanks to everyone who has followed along with us for so many years - we love y’all. ⬛️⚫️
