Follow @spencr Spencer FM presents two hours of woozy, mind-warping disorientation, pulled from what witnesses describe as a six-hour basement séance that may or may not have triggered mild existential episodes. Listen as this Portland instigator blurs the line between left-field house abominations and dollar-bin minimal, leaving behind a trail of dazed dancers and broken dreams. Spencer FM is a DJ, producer, and promoter based in Portland, Oregon. He currently runs the Madrugada party series and record label. Prior to Madrugada, he founded Occasion, Orchard, and Canyon Vibration. In spring 2025, he released an EP on Madrugada that has seen support from the likes of Massimiliano Pagliara, Powder, nd_baumecker, and Skatebård, among others.

It’s record release day! I’m excited to share this new record with all of you, which is a long time coming. As my first proper EP, and first release on @m.a.d.r.u.g.a.d.a , I thought it would be extra special to include a remix from my dear friend and mentor @massimilianopagliara_ . I met Massi on my first visit to Berghain back in 2015, on month long Berlin trip that was absolutely transformative for me in so many ways. At that point, I’d only been DJing for a few years, the OV party series was less than a year old, and I was certain that Innervisions/Dixon was the pinnacle of dance music 🫣. Then I spent 3 weekends in a row going to Berghain, and had my brain completely rewired. Right before I returned home, Massi invited me over for a tea, and I still remember ringing his doorbell, being soooo fucking nervous to be hanging out with this charming Italian panorama bar resident whose name I still didn’t really know how to pronounce ☺️. But, for those of you who know Massi, he’s the sweetest guy ever, and my anxiety quickly disappeared. Massi showed me around his studio, and introduced me to some soon to be friends that I still cherish to this day, the Roland SH-101 and Juno-106. Massi has been a dear friend ever since, and was an absolutely wonderful mentor as I started wading into production. When I decided it was time to start my own label, it was only fitting to ask Massi to do a remix :) The Madrugada01 12” vinyl and digital are officially for sale today on Bandcamp, and the 12” is being distributed via rubadub in Europe, and at all the major online record stores over there (juno, deejay.de, phonica, redeye, etc…) Thanks for all the support, hope you enjoy it! 🎶 Spencer FM - Alpenglow (Massimiliano Pagliara’s Hint of Acid Remix)

Doing a @m.a.d.r.u.g.a.d.a party at @process.pdx this Saturday to celebrate the launch of my first EP on madrugada records. Joining me are Trustfall (@chelstarc ) and Backstroke (@pat_con ). I’ve been digging like a mofo and have soooo much fun new music to share with y’all! Also, this is my first time playing at Process, and goes without saying that I’m excited :) I’ll be playing 12-2.
