Alchemy this year was incredible! This was only my second burn and it couldn't have been better. The weather was beautiful, the vibes were immaculate and the people I met were all so wonderful and happy. I couldn't have asked for a better experience 😊 My set on Saturday night at Spectral Subverse was a blast. It's such a great feeling to look up and see all of my friends and people I have met throughout the weekend enjoying the set and smiling. Also shout-out to the Smoracle Bass crew! bb's first time in a fire circle 🥹 Six weeks ago, @therealjacksonbush had never touched a dragonstaff or spun fire. This past weekend at Alchemy, he spun my staff multiple times by himself (including in conclave, in front of the whole burn), and also with me 🥰🥳 When Jackson expressed interest in trying partner dragon stuff over Labor Day weekend, I got super excited for multiple reasons. For one, I've never taught someone who had zero solo dragon experience how to spin partner dragon. I've also never dated someone who wanted to learn anything about dragonstaff from me- let alone allow me to lead them through partner dragon sequences. Tbh I never saw this relationship coming for a minute, but damn I feel fortunate to have found him. Thank you for lovingly supporting me through stressful periods, creating art with me, celebrating my goofy side, working to befriend the people closest to me, trusting me to care for you through unfamiliar experiences, expressing interest in my scientific research, and for always, always wanting to coordinate outfits ❤️‍🔥😘 More moves are loading, both for him individually and for us as a duo. We'll be training all winter so that we can bust out something awesome at Flame 2026! Even with the last-minute decision of no Wood by the fire marshal and sound restrictions by the city, I am so proud of this Camp and everything that we accomplished this weekend. It was my third year as a Conclave Co -lead. I got to assist @pebblespins with Friday nights Queer conclave and @klarmander Saturday night for effigy Conclave. Afterwards I stayed up til 6 am as fire circle lead for SS. All such rewarding roles. I love this burn, my team, and my camp so much. Let’s do it again next year! Ahhh, Alchemy ❤️‍🔥 My home burn: the event that made me the person and performer I am today Between leading the Conclave team (and the event's performer safety in general), working at my beloved @spectralsubverse and spending time with my sweet bb burngin @therealjacksonbush - I was preposterously busy. I even showed up on Thursday with a laminated two-page schedule mapping out my obligations hour by hour 🫩😮‍💨😅 But honestly? I like being busy. My last few Alchemys were rough because of two critical, unsupportive voices. While I didn’t get much time to play this year, everything did feel better 🥲 To start: the Conclave/Performer Safety squad- myself @pebblespins and @ladypyromancer - was an absolute dream team Pebbles insisted on taking full lead for the Queеr+ conclave/Stоnewall tribute art burn on Friday night, and she crushed it. She also set the tone as a megaphone boss while leading the Subverse circle on Thursday. With the queеr conclave event covered, I had the bandwidth to run a fire circle safety training on Friday, and lead the Subverse circle that night. I led Saturday’s big effigy Conclave, and even made everyone printed handouts with full color, labelled diagrams 🤓 Leedle helped out with both of our conclaves, trained the safeties, and then she topped it off with the hardest 10+ hour circle lead shift at Subverse on burn night. With all three of us on deck, everything ran smoothly- even enjoyably. Other shout-outs are in order for the theme camp: @timeddilation @hey_its_tree @courtz_can_fly @elements.flow and @aldewyn all joined Subverse over the past year, and all were incredible contributors to our circle. Historic camp members @oopsallbeary @alex_angel_photography @juliett_catulett @jsmithers89 also went above and beyond to help out at inconvenient hours. Thank you for working late, and repeatedly blessing our circle as both safeties and spinners🙏🫶 Thank you also to Courtz, Ben, and MJ for helping out at the conclave fuel depot- y'all crushed it! Magic with Alchemy. . . Alchemy the Georgia Burn is my home burn. This year was my first "solo" burn, where I traveled alone and completely detached from my old partner. If you know, you know. But it made this year the most magical and healing one I've ever had. . I wasn't really solo, I had a massive community behind me, and so much support from my friends. I'm walking away from this burn with more confidence in myself than I've ever had.
