Sunday May 3, 5:30pm - Embody restorative postures in the vibration of ancient mantras w Janet Stone. Deep dive into the combined integrative power of these two practices. One of the first things you learn about SOUK is that we like to keep our prop wall meticulously organized. It’s our way of showing care for the next person that will make use of a blanket, block, bolster, or strap.
🔘When we grab props for our own practice, it is an act of care towards ourselves; a recognition of our ability to provide the body support towards a deeper opening, if and when the need arises, without hesitation, without ego.
🔘Props are used purposely to unlock postures and sensations, reminding us that yoga isn’t just about physical strength & flexibility, but increased sensitivity. There is a well of intelligence in the body & the more subtle layers of our being, awaiting an opening to reveal itself.
🔘Using blocks, straps, and bolsters creates space where there was once tension, transforming a challenging pose into an opportunity for structural integrity and profound breath.
🔘Setting yourself up for your practice ready with your props is a sign of an advanced practice, ready to honor the body’s wisdom.
🔘Returning your props as you found them is a sign of an advanced yogi, eager to pass on the benefits of the practice to the
next practitioner.
