Oh, hey.
We’d like to present The D EP - streaming everywhere as of today!
After unexpectedly crossing paths, @mathisruffingxx and @somethingblue313 met up in a basement studio and created an EP in The D. A few months later, Mathis had @shallow.melo drop a sick verse, and have been testing the EP out at various gigs ever since. Each track is an exploration of the distinct sounds of Detroit Techno’s most infamous sub genres, all with a Berlin-inspired twist. This EP is dedicated to everyone who supports and enjoys it. Special thanks to @jeffffff_garcia and his basement studio!

Kinfolk isn’t just a party, it’s a feeling you recognize the second you walk in the room. It’s the sound of Black music in all its forms—played with care, confidence, and deep respect.
On Friday, February 27, Kinfolk makes its debut at TV Lounge, closing out Black History Month the right way: loud, soulful, genre-fluid, and rooted in Detroit.
At the center of it all are Nick Speed, something blue, and Wrcklés—three selectors with wildly different paths and a shared understanding of where this music comes from and who it’s for. Nick Speed is Detroit lineage and technical mastery personified, cutting between classics, house, ghettotech, and the kind of b-sides that shaped dance floors long before algorithms did. something blue brings a refined yet raw Detroit electronic sensibility—shaped by years alongside legendary producers and crystallized in releases like The D with Berlin’s Mathis Ruffing, curating sounds that feel both future-facing and deeply familiar. Wrcklés rounds out the trio with a multidisciplinary, sensory-driven approach, blending DJing, curation, and storytelling into sets that feel intentional, immersive, and just a little reckless in the best way.
Kinfolk is for the people who know. The ones who respect the roots, love the culture, and move freely when the right record drops. Expect local anthems, mainstream heat, forgotten gems, and left-field moments that remind you—you’re among family here.
Spread the word. Assemble your crew. Get your tickets at • New series. Real connection. Same old truth. You’re amongst kinfolk. — with Mike Clark and 17 others at TV Lounge.
