Chicago is notorious for pumping out some of our favorite bands. Today we’re excited to welcome another one to Solid Brass—Bursting.
Featuring past and present members of Stress Positions, Thou, Coliseum, As Hell, and more, @burstingband is a heavy-hitting 4 piece who serve up incredibly catchy and angular post hardcore anthems in the vein of Drive Like Jehu, Chavez, and Jawbox.
Just in time for their recently announced May tour, and while they’re working on a new record for early 2027, we’ve teamed up with their original label @nosabesprojects for a limited repress of their self-titled LP on brass colored vinyl.

We’re excited to welcome LA band @bondo_band to Solid Brass!
Their third studio album finds Bondo once again recording live, combing through songs they know well with sincerity. While continuity persists through their 11 track offering, the band demonstrates a range of songwriting styles. Some tracks are more traditional, featuring verses and choruses that are easy to latch onto. Others rely on their signature instrumental sound, building subtle structures while still allowing room for meditations that ultimately dissolve into space.
In Los Angeles, the freeway opens up to the coast. Cars going highway speed next to the water, the road meets the ocean on the horizon. Bondo plays that to a tune in the first single, “Strummer”. The guitar leads like a siren through the feedback and heavy rhythm section, making a dissonant ear worm.

Although they were based in Kent, Harriet The Spy was essentially one of the SIT house bands for a stretch of a few years. If you showed up on any given night from 95-98 there was a decent chance they’d be on the bill with some of the best post-rock, indie and emo bands touring the Midwest in that era.

“Mexico Unlimited” from their upcoming album, ‘Faust Demonica’ surges forward with propulsive rhythm and dark electronic momentum. The song traces a tense encounter with temptation and self-deception, where escape slowly gives way to entrapment.
Urgent, hypnotic, and physically immediate, the track captures NORMANS at their most kinetic.

“Sit Calm” first appeared on @kinggandthejkrew ’s 1990 debut release ‘SNUG’. MC Diogenes (Jason Noble) consistently mentioned that the intent and lyrics resonated with him. He compared it to the song ‘TV Eye’ by Iggy Pop.
For ‘Indestructible Songs…’, he suggested the group revisit this track as a more aggressive, guitar driven track. This is the first King G track that peeled back the drumheads and speaker cones long enough to give them a fast glimpse at what it was like to make dense, heavy, live music.

Welcoming @bondo_band to Solid Brass.
Los Angeles band Bondo balances force & restraint. Their music is world-building in a science fiction sort of way. The four-piece has honed their own type of post-rock/slowcore, built upon a strong foundation of live dynamics and a proprietary instrumental language. Their sound is narrative-like: a dream logic which is both intuitive and natural.
Since 2023 Bondo has shared stages with bands such as Teethe, Water From Your Eyes, Deaf Heaven, Cloud Nothings, Trauma Ray, untitled (halo), A Country Western, Idaho, and more.
