solarpunk dc Issue #27 just dropped — @dcclimateweek Edition.
This cover art is giving that I live on the farm but got a mission to the city feel. That between breakfast and dinner, the land feeds me feel. That of course I travel multimodal and my whole fleet is electric feel lol.
We’re thankful to serve as DC Climate Week’s official creative partners, and we’re also looking forward to collaborating with @dcbikeparty and the DCA Startups & AI Walks. But the culture drop of this issue goes to our newly discovered inspiration: Blitmap.
We’ve always believed that art and community belong in the same room. Art isn’t decoration for us, it’s how we imagine our way forward. In the past, we’ve partnered with @bigplanetcomics to bring artists like @domostanton and @pinheads_sketchbook and community members together for live drawing sessions, and to recommend books we think embody a solarpunk sensibility.
Blitmap is an open-source art collection and sci-fi fantasy universe set in the fictional world of Caelum. The artist at the center of it all is @tulipyumi96 , Art Director at @sup.worlds and the creative force behind Blitmap’s cover art.
Moving forward, Blitmap will be a core part of our identity. Thank you to the incredibly talented team at Sup Inc for inspiring the solarpunk movement.

This week, we joined forces with @low.waste.collective to document and amplify the voices behind @dcclimateweek 2026 and the scale of this year’s event tells a real story.
Over 4,000 registered attendees. Hundreds of events across the DMV.
We sat down with one of the organizing volunteers, @chessjakobs who shared what made this year different: rather than top-down theme programming, organizers opened the floor to the entire DMV region, inviting organizations to design their own events, highlight their own work, and center the frontline voices in their communities.
That shift matters. This is exactly the kind of story solarpunk dc loves and we’re honored to be the creative media partner bringing it to you.
