Protest Grotesk is a friendly yet straightforward low-contrast sans serif, available in a wide range of weights. First released in 2023, it’s now back — reworked, expanded, and grown into a complete family spanning 32 weights across two styles, including the new Protest Grotesk Mono.
The typeface draws inspiration from late 19th- and early 20th-century geometric sans serifs such as Kabel and Futura, while also leaning on more humanist classics like Akzidenz Grotesk. The result is a contemporary take that feels just as at home in bold display use as it does in longer text settings.

Doing business on your own can sometimes feel like the hardest part – especially when deeper questions come up and there’s no one to reflect them with. That’s why I love creating spaces where people like @softdrivefoundry can pause, think aloud, and turn their thoughts into structure.
@softdrivefoundry is a newly started type foundry at the intersection of design and code. In a 4-hour workshop, we went through their finances and operational setup, defined focus, and mapped next steps. Watching someone move from “I’m not sure if I’m doing this right” to “Okay, I see it now in the numbers and this makes sense” never gets old for me! ☺️🩵🌀
