2025 - A year I’ve changed a lot: appearance-wise, mentally, physically and spiritually. This was a heavy year of reflection for me. I had A LOT of ups and downs: family, work, BJJ… life.
I lost more than I won but we will work on rebuilding in 2026. The Year of the Horse and the year of new beginnings. One thing that did go well was my career. I’m now a Senior Editor and Head of PR at Gambling.com - a title I dreamed of since I was a teen.
A lot of lessons learned. A lot of experiences had. And life just … well life-ing! As I always say, “you miss 100% of the shots you DON’T take”. Roll on 2026. 👹
As for the spiritual stuff - well… In the Chinese Zodiac, 2025 was the Year of the Snake. This represents snake skin being shedded, meaning to leave things that no longer serve you and to rid old habits that are holding you back. 🐍
Meanwhile 2026 brings the Year of the Horse which is where you gallop into success, rebirth, and new beginnings. 🐎

It was a couple of weeks ago, I am only just catching up, and it was only a couple of weeks before the comp that I got my black belt ☺️
~ It felt good to embrace a new challenge at a new big belt.
~ It felt good to not feel absolutely out of place in such a tough division.
~ It felt good to have noticed improvements in the game even within the comp as the fights came up.
~ It felt very new to fight in 10 min matches and last the entire round 🥵
~ It felt INCREDIBLE to show up with my new Black belt and to be WELCOMED by SO MANY people I have crossed paths with in the many years of training and competing!!
Many more positive things that I can list about this comp, the people that supported me, the people that I came up against, the fights that I watched, the friends I saw succeed and more.
