On my way home from an incredibly inspiring yet demanding week with the Gutenberg Jazz Collective and Joey Baron! Thank you to Joey and the Band for sharing their time, experience, patience and compassion with me. The rehearsals as well as the concert really made me reflect upon where I am as a person as well as a musician and where I want to go. Looking forward to going back in November! ✨
Übermorgen wären wir dann wieder so weit! Wie gehabt lädt die Jazz Kitchen am ersten Freitag des Monats junge, spannende Formationen ins Restaurant Brückenstern ein, diesmal kommt Saxofonistin Sofia Will mit ihrem Quintett WILLKÜR vorbei.
Zusammengefunden haben sich die fünf Musiker:innen in Mainz, haben sich aber inzwischen von Basel bis Berlin breitgemacht. Doch wer sich einmal einspielt, spielt sich so schnell nicht wieder aus - so ist immer wieder ein vergnügen, wenn WILLKÜR zusammenfindet und mit den Kompositionen der Bandleaderin spielt.
Das Wochenende über ist die Band auf Release-Tour mit ihrem Debütalbum, der Anlass ist also nochmal extra besonders. Kommt also unbedingt vorbei!
