Introducing IMUR’s 2026 Summer Artist in Practice – Sofia Carrasco
@sofiacarrasco.i
IMUR’s year-round Artist in Practice program is open to emerging artists seeking dedicated time and space to develop their work outside regular gallery hours. Following a review of each artist’s practice, goals, and studio needs, IMUR collaborates with selected participants by providing workspace, marketing assistance, and branding guidance throughout the course of the program, with the goal of supporting and promoting their artistic development as much as possible.
We are pleased to welcome Sofia Carrasco as part of our 2026 Summer Artist in Practice cohort.
Sofia is a graduate student at NJCU
@njcuarts @njcualumni whose interdisciplinary practice moves between painting and music composition. Alongside her visual art practice, she is also a saxophonist, bringing together sound, emotion, and atmosphere across multiple forms of expression. Sofia also composed the music for Stella Chang
@artbystellachang , further reflecting her interest in storytelling through sound and immersive emotional environments.
This summer, IMUR is currently working closely with Sofia in preparation for her upcoming exhibition and the development of her musical works and performances. We look forward to supporting her evolving practice and sharing more of her work with the community in the coming months.
Please follow Sofia on Instagram for more updates on her work and upcoming projects.
Welcome to IMUR, Sofia.
