Smoothie making, exam prep assisting, self-pitying, twig burning, cow watching- kind of week 🫢🤷🏼♀️
PS. My new newsletter Your Second act went live this week - it’s aimed for a woman who’s smart and knows her stuff. She could teach, coach or build something people would happily pay for. But she hasn’t - because she doesn’t know where to start, what to charge, or how to sell without feeling like a used car dealer. @your_second_act_

A little mid-May house tour ☺️
Not much has changed around here lately, but I think that’s ok. Sometimes it’s nice just to enjoy things as they are.
It’s a busy weekend ahead - dinner out tonight, ear piercing tomorrow for my daughter’s 9th birthday next week, and her party on Sunday 🥲 Honestly, can time just slow down a touch?
Have a lovely weekend, my friends xx

Spring days recently. Leaves unfurling, cherry blossom popping, lake lodge interior refreshes, reading books by the lake. Slow days in nature watching the Suffolk countryside come to life in the sunshine. Our boutique cabins are waiting for you 🌳✨️
Artwork can really bring all the colours together in a scheme and make a room feel truly finished. It can tell your story and transform a house into a home. There are some amazing affordable options for artwork and prints - we can help you source the right pieces and work with art you already have to find the best spots to hang them.
In this previous project, the painting shown was the starting point for the whole scheme in this room. It adds another layer of personality and interest to the space.

A few of my favourite spaces and snaps from the last few weeks. It’s cold right now right? I went out in sandals this week a few times and my feet nearly froze off 🤣
.
We lit a fire last night but have also had some lovely moments out in the garden. What are you up to today? I have a few trips away soon and hopefully some markets locally where I’ll be selling my art and decor pieces (if you like these there are new pieces in my shop this week) Have a great day!

Two directions for a master bedroom scheme.
My clients came to me because they were struggling to pull the room together. Although they’d played it quite safe with neutrals in previous homes, they both actually really liked colour. The challenge was finding a scheme that suited their slightly different tastes and felt balanced for both of them.
A big part of my role is helping clients find that middle ground and pull together a scheme that feels cohesive and works for everyone living in the space.
Working around their existing bed, I created two directions to help shape the relaxing sanctuary they were after.
One takes a slightly bolder approach with colour and contrast, while the other feels softer in contrast but stiol uses colour in a deep green and dusky pinks.
I love how colour completely alters the look and feel of a space. Tell me, which scheme would you go for?
And if you’re struggling to know how to introduce colour into your own home, feel free to get in touch, I’d love to help.
Sharing more York House snaps is so long overdue.
We LOVE this room.

Repost @sofadotcom ✨May Sofa of The Month: Bluebell ✨
and rightly so... for a long time, our Bluebell has been a favourite of yours - and ours. With graceful curves and gently scrolled arms, Bluebell is a beautifully timeless piece designed to elevate your home.

I used to think our house needed something much bigger changing for it to finally feel how I wanted it to feel…
More money, bigger projects, doing rooms properly one day 😩
But looking back now, it was never really that.
It’s been lots of smaller things over time instead:
Changing colours that felt too cold, adding softer textures, making rooms feel warmer in the evenings, creating spaces that feel more lived in and less visually busy…
None of these things changed the house dramatically on their own, but together they’ve completely changed how our home feels to live in.
Warmer, softer and much more like us.
I think that’s why homes can feel slightly off sometimes even when nothing actually looks wrong, because it’s usually lots of little things quietly affecting everything without you properly noticing it.
If your house feels nearly right but not quite, you’ll probably know exactly what I mean 🤍

House stuff: what I do when I don’t know where to start.

Wish I had a cheat sheet for other areas of my life!
