„Die hier präsentierten Skulpturen beschwören diese lange Erinnerung herauf. Auf den ersten Blick ähneln sie Brunnen: Massen unterschiedlicher Objekte, prekäre Volumen, die sowohl an Konstruktion als auch an Ruinen erinnern – eine schwebende Baustelle. Waschbecken, Türen, Fliesen, Fenster oder Möbelfragmente ragen empor wie die Schichten einer zerstörten häuslichen Landschaft. Diese Assemblagen ruhen in riesigen Rückhaltebecken, zeitgenössischen Sockeln, die eine dunkle, beunruhigende Substanz enthalten: gebrauchtes Motoröl.“

Zum vierten Gartenforum erweitert Idle Hands ihre Arbeit im Kunstraum durch eine raumgreifende Installation. Sophie Ballmer und Tarik Hayward, das Künstlerduo Idle Hands, erforschen in ihrer interdisziplinären Praxis das Zusammenspiel von Utopie, Ruine, Konstruktion und Rekonstruktion. Das Gartenjahr wird seit dem Gartenforum Primavera durch ihre Installation im Kunstraum begleitet, die zwischen Struktur und Zusammenbruch oszilliert und innerhalb der Ausstellung als eine Art Einfriedung das Gartenjahr rahmt. Mit der Erweiterung zieht ein Teil ihres eigenen Gartens temporär in den Kunstraum.

❄️Johanna Hullár vit à Zurich. Entre photographie, vidéo et sculptures de glace, elle explore les liens entre matérialité, perception et transformation. Sa pratique transdisciplinaire joue sur les contrastes entre réel et surréel, figé et mouvant. Lauréate des Swiss Design Awards 2024 et du Prix de l’ECAL, elle exposera bientôt à Paris dans le cadre d'une résidence à la Fondation Fiminco, en partenariat avec Plateforme 10.
🎭Sophie Ballmer, artiste, réalisatrice et curatrice, vit entre la Vallée de Joux et Lausanne. Co-fondatrice de l’espace d’art Tunnel Tunnel, elle développe une œuvre qui interroge les croisements entre intime et politique, à travers le film, l’écriture et la collaboration artistique. En 2024, elle reçoit un Swiss Art Award après avoir été primée à Visions du Réel en 2023.
🏛Stephan Zimmerli travaille entre architecture, scénographie, dessin et musique. Formé auprès de Peter Zumthor, cofondateur du groupe Moriarty, il conçoit des espaces hybrides et sensibles où se mêlent mémoire, exil et narration. Ses œuvres, entre micro-architecture et performance graphique, sont exposées dans toute l’Europe.

Nail Bar: crashed car windshield, scaffolding, welding
Invasive Specie: laurel waste, hair clips, used cooking oil, used motor oil, water
The exhibition unfolds as a fractured landscape where gardening reveals the entanglement of nature and artifice. A rusted steel scaffold, scarred by MIG welding, bears a litany of human symptoms—an anatomy of distress etched into decay. Salvaged, cracked windshields replace its walkways, their black-edged geometry conjuring a spectral, unstable space.
On these suspended surfaces, invasive plants take root, gripped by plastic hair clips like mutant insects. Their stems plunge into vases where water, used cooking oil, and blackened motor oil settle in viscous layers — a palimpsest of contamination.
Part of a year-long program exploring gardening through shifting interventions, talks, and workshops, the installation oscillates between structure and collapse, questioning how we cultivate, control, and surrender to the landscapes we shape.
